Iron Depletion in Blood related to COVID?

My mother's hemoglobin levels started dipping gradually just several months following Pfizer booster after having had the first 2 shots as astrazenica. Incidentally she had a massive reaction to the Pfizer booster, terrible joint pains, extreme fatigue, in bed for a week feeling majorly ill. She has to have blood tests every 6 weeks due to having a bone strengthening jab for spinal cancer, has done for years and they apparently check her bloods pre jab, which is a joke, as we didn't find out she was anemic until October 2022 and at that point she was at around 85 hemoglobin and it should be around 120 here in the UK. Apparently her hemoglobin levels had been steadily declining since April 22 but Oncologist didn't think to tell us as it wasn't a concern. We found out through her GP due to another issue and they spotted it. Apparently anemia is quite normal in cancer patients. As we pointed out, she was diagnosed with cancer 7 years ago and the treatment hasn't changed. The only difference is the jabs! Coincidence perhaps? I doubt it. Although, they tested specifically for low iron stores and its not the iron, that's fine. So the conclusion is anemia due to chronic disease suddenly after 7 years. It can't be the covid jab, no evidence. Well there wouldn't be because all the trials were hidden until recently. And since it takes at least 10 years to trial and approve a vaccine for market and it literally took a year or less to trial the covid jabs, there couldn't possibly be sufficient testing data to account for why it might cause anemia.
Don't waste money on seeing a hematologist. We did and I was disgusted that they would not entertain the idea it could be the jab and even if it were, there is nothing that could be done because again, there is insufficient data to suggest a remedy. It's all a whitewash!

Dr. Delrie, hemotologist, gave me a timed-release iron infusion after a blood count performed by his staff agreed with my(NP) Memphis based blood count. The iron infusion and the Flagyl (7 pills)(prescribed by my NP in Magnolia, MS. after I told her about the H-pylori attack my friend had 30 years ago)(She also found blood in my stool before prescribing Flagyl).I took a 62 mg iron pill of ferrite sulfate a few days ago to help my timed release iron infusion performed by Dr Delrie's staff. My problem was identified at least a year ago when a memphis blood count said(low iron) and my body rejected the same ferrite sulfate pill I presume caused by the H-pylori bacteria in 2021? thanks for your input..

Oral iron tablets are not well tolerated by some - like myself. The iron infusions {Venofer} solved my problem two years ago. Now the problem has reappeared; I am scheduled to re-start the Venofer infusions in a few weeks. Your experience is interesting; perhaps following my infusions I will try the oral iron once again and see how well that I tolerate them.

It does appear that your iron loss was a result of a bleeding ulcer. I need to ask the GI Dr {tomorrow} to do an occult blood in the stool test to start things off. I am sure that he will want to perform a colonoscopy and an EGD soon.

My iron infusion was called mono ferric and is time released. Please check it out and see if it might be an improvement? monoferric is the brand name. When he wanted to see me back in November 2023, I decided to take a second ferric sulfate 62 mg pill to regulate my stool to allow me to go to the bathroom less often. Iron is supposed to constipate you and the first pill did that. Second one not so much? Yet?

I have just had m y second lot of blood transfusions. The first was last year two months after receiving the Pfizer covid booster. I declined the invasive camera searches after I discovered an MRI scan can be used instead. There was nothing found, my fec/fit test, and the subsequent fit/fec tests have all been clear. I have no pain, swelling or any symptoms apart from the anaemia. Now they are suggesting camera work yet again so internal bleeding be ruled out. I am in Britain and have reported what I feel certain is a connection to the covid booster on the yellow card site. I am over 70 and have never had anaemia til now. Where can I get haematological information on the way to go forward without invasive procedures which are really not indicated. I'm at the end of my tether...

I presume that the fec/fit test in Britain is the same as 'occult blood' here in the States. You say that it has been negative. Is your 'anemia' iron deficiency or low hemoglobin/RBC. Since you got transfusions I presume that you have low hemoglobin/RBC as iron deficiency does not normally require a blood transfusion, just iron infusions.

The 'invasive' camera procedure I presume is a colonoscopy - a visual inspection of the colon for polyps and/or tumors. Why do you not wish to undergo that procedure? Yes, an MRI is one avenue but not necessarily exclusive; visual inspection _might_ uncover something the MRI reading missed; I really do not know. Have you seen a hematologist already? They would be one good source for figuring the cause of anemia. It can be complicated sometimes... for example a bone marrow test.

As to connecting your anemia to the CoViD shots, I don't think the medical community is ready to accept that for now. Be patient and work your way through the normal channels of diagnosis. I entered my iron deficiency anemia onto the VAERS system yet my initial post here {https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/iron-depletion-in-blood-and-covid-vaccine/?pg=68#chv4-comment-stream-header - June 7} was in response to a statement that there was no mention of iron depletion on the VAERS system. Perhaps forums such as this can help to correct that deficiency. :^) IR

Hi.I had my second Pfizer vaccine in January 2022.I was just recovering from anemia from celiac disease at the time and then my anemia got worse from the vaccine.After taking Feramax for 1.5 years with no improvement,I had two iron infusions over two weeks ago.I am still as exhausted as ever.Is this normal?
