Prolapse bowel surgery: What was your recovery like?
I just had a prolapse bowel surgery last week… I was in the hospital 3 days. I live alone and it’s been rough…. The post surgery “ diarrhea “ is so bad.. it just wont stop.. I feel I am torn with fissures and the pain is excruciating.. I also feel full the moment I try to eat something or drink something… the surgeon’s office is very slow to call back.. I’m trying to eat what they call the BRAT diet but if I don’t get enough fluids I think I may have to check back in the hospital but can someone tell me what I can do about this constant diarrhea and how to heal these sores? Thank you

Has anyone had prolapsed bladder surgery without using mesh?
@tabithatwitch I was just wondering how your recovery from the rectal prolapse repair is going. I had mine on 4/13 but ended up 5/19 having a robotic ventral mesh rectopexy to fix the rectal prolapse that started staying out most of the time. It is much better but now trying to gain my strength back to what it was a year ago. This seems to be a real challenge. Take care. KLH
My recovery is going well. I still struggle with constipation and trying to balance it from the occasional diarrhea when I use a laxative or some thing to help.
My surgery was in the end of February and I still get random pains but overall I feel pretty good. I had my surgery and Stanford without mesh.
Where did you have yours?
Gaining strength after surgery or anything major takes more time than expected. Keep working on getting stronger.
