Smoir - He is Dr. Ghanmoum. I don’t know whether you could see him. You would need a referral from your doctor. The other thing is that in Quebec it is a public health care system. That means it free for all Quebeckers. I am not sure whether the hospital accepts payments from elsewhere. That is something you should look into. It takes a few months to see him once your prescription is accepted.
God Bless You! I'm sure this is miserable stuff. I get a weekly Digest from People's Pharmacy (PeoplesPharmacy.com). Today it was on BMS. Suggestions were to use toothpaste that was SLS Free, take alpha-lipoic acid 600 mg daily & rinse your mouth with baking soda & water. I know these are probably our 100th suggestion, but, I hope one of them helps you.
I have a burning mouth. I was treated for yeast infection and now I have been to a specialist who deals exclusively with the mouth at a university hospital. He is running some blood tests that have to do with the immune system. I have other autoimmune problems so it seems logical to test for that.I hope they find the problem. Mine is especially painful on the palet and surface of the tongue.
@willows Was the hospital specialist able to help you ? So many people are suffering from burning mouth syndrome and it would be great to get some answers!
Becky, I have completed the 100% naystin medication where you rinse, gargle, and swallow rather than spit. I have improved my condition considerably. My follow up appointment is at the end of May and I will see what he says then. I will also get the results of the blood tests. Because I suffer from dry mouth and dry eyes as well as a fungal infection in my mouth he suspects Sjogrens. I am afflicted with other autoimmune problems, it is possible that I have Sjogrens. I will keep you posted later. I suppose burning mouth might have the autoimmune connection which means treat the symptoms don’t hope for a cure.

My BMS started one year ago, not long after receiving shot of prednisone in my back. Also started noticing heartburn. Omeprazole helped some for both, but didn’t want to be dependent on that. BMS got really bad after second prednisone treatment. I started taking DGL LICORICE to treat heartburn and BMS. I thought that was a miracle cure, but now I have to take more and more of it. It still works but feel like I am taking a lot of DGL. Anybody else have similar experience?

Hello @amymercurial, Welcome to Connect. While we wait for others who have experience using Deglycyrrhizinated Licorice (DGL) to treat heartburn and BMS, I thought I would share this article on the DGL.
Do you know his name ?
I’d love to be able to see him.
Thanks

Do you mind sharing how you heard about using DGL to help you? Have you discussed the supplement with your doctor or care team?
