I am 86 yo.. I had a bad case of Covid on 12/2022 and two weeks later I was admitted to the hospital with a PE in my right lung. I have been on Eliquis 10 mgs daily for the last 5 months and was told that will continue taking them for a long-term or maybe for the rest of my life. Have any of you taken thinners for a long term or advised by your doctor to take them for a lifetime? Also, I started showing red spots in my stomach area, have you experienced this side effect?

I will be on Eliquis lifelong. I've beeb on them multiple times but did not have doctors that would continue to fill my prescriptions so I continued to get another bilateral pulmonary embolisms. I no longer see that Doctor and got a new one. I have not noticed any side effects which I'm very thankful for.
