Are any other seniors experiencing a need to cry more often?
I'm 71 and have started crying "at the drop of a hat." Hearing the news or watching the worst of the human condition unfold in a movie usually triggers it. And once I get started, it's hard to stop.

1 ReactionDon't feel sad or ashamed about crying, ever. Reframe in your mind and body. Sometimes, I'm over hydrated, joking. Happy and laughing, tears of joy. Sad and fear, crying can be a release valve and reminding us to regulate breath. It's all good. It's all love and comes from the heart. It's my chance to create a vision of hope and love. It's always a practice of love and compassion. Love and trust in ourselves.

Me too! I’ve been watching a lot of WorldNews on PBS and found I had become so depressed that I had to stop watching. Maybe our age (76) or just that the world news is more than I can handle

3 ReactionsMy husband and I both seem to be feeling this way. I can’t think of anything we are doing differently- no new meds or anything. We just get “touched” by movies, news, stories, all the time now. And when thinking about family

3 ReactionsI agree with not watching almost any news. I was an avid follower of news, but every corner of the world seems in crisis with no solutions in sight. I'm 76 and having a harder time to keeping up, so why add news that turns out to untruthful in 2 weeks. I have had 7 joint replacements , just coming off a knee replacement. I try to focus and meditate. There is more of a future in it

11 ReactionsWhen I was coming off an addiction to oxycontin. I too kept crying at everything. Joy sadness anything ! A dr friend called it ebullient emotion. It happens when the body is affected by some traumatic event. Eg a stroke. Detox etc.
