Pillows Anyone!! 😴
I'm using five old pillows that suck not only that they SUCK the LIFE out of me is there any out there that won't cause sleep wrinkles and neck pain I'm trying to sleep on my back but then I'll go to my side..💤🥱😴
My bed is horrible too a good recommendation for a topper that will give good support and doesn't smell bad might help I'm not looking to spend to much but will put a little into it the bed and pillows we SLEEP on should be one of the most important things we purchase my beds are 18 years old so YEAH 😵💫😳
I feel like the walls are crumbling down after awhile I have to much junk and not enough of the right stuff
It's time to unload my home I'm getting to old for collecting stuff I have enough and then not enough if you get what I mean I need happiness and joy not STUFF except really good pillows and blankets sheets and beds 🥱😴😂

Have a yard sale. We had one after Ian and it was pay what you want, no haggle. That made it stress free except for set up. We took anything left over to the curb for trash pick up. Felt good to get rid of STUFF. good luck.
I really like the MyPillow small Roll & GoAnywhere Pillows. I have a large old pillow that is pretty thin and I have 2 of the Roll & Go pillows, one for under my head and one for between the knees. I'm mostly a side sleeper and sometimes on my my back. The smaller pillow is easier to keep my head propped up a little and best of all they are machine washable - https://www.mypillow.com/accessory-pillows/roll-and-go-anywhere-mypillow. I had one of their mattress toppers years ago but we gave it to my wife's sister when we got an adjustable bed.
I feel your frustrations too. I am surprised how my pillows can cause neck, back, my ears hurt shoot the whole Right sides hurt. Can't sleep either. Tossing and turning through out the night wondering what should I do.
Missed diagnosis too 😕
An 18 year old mattress is well beyond worn out! No topper is going to make it into a supportive bed again. We dawdled for five years replacing the mattress in our winter park model, and both suffered plenty because of it!
Time to replace, maybe think about one of the new hybrid "mattress in a box type - maybe with an adjustable frame. We love ours. And his chiro and my PT both convinced us to throw away the worn out pillows. Excellent advice. We now use a combo of microbead pillows and little MyPillow ones.
Good sleep is you very best ally as you get older. If you have "treasures" you think are worth a little, maybe call in a seller and dedicate the proceeds to a new bed. If not, consider it an investment in your health.

I sleep on the floor using a Japanese 2 inch futon. I use a pillow stuffed with buckwheat husks. It is heavy but I travel with it too. It helps me to sleep on my back and then another shape on my side. I use one of those foam neck cushions for between my knees when I'm on my side. To extend the life of my futon I take it outside in the sunshine every 4 weeks. l leave it out there for 3 or 4 hours. When I travel, I prefer Airbnb's because I usually get floor space to sleep on. I carry my bedding to make something similar to the futon but not nearly as comfortable. My family likes to tease me about how I fill up the van when I travel. My Apple watch tells me I'm in bed about 10 hours every night and I sleep about 7 and 1/2. I like to get more than an hour. REM and I really shoot for about the same with deep sleep. Seldom happens though. I normally have to get up six times each night to go to the bathroom.
If I eat late, meaning that I don't get 5 hours of digestion before bedtime, I use a floor recliner to keep me slightly elevated until I get past the 5-hour Mark. That helps to prevent indigestion.
Besides keeping my back stretched out and feeling good throughout the day, another benefit of sleeping on the floor is that I can get up off the floor! Those muscles still work pretty darn good.

I have sleep problems due to neck pain also. I found an inexpensive soft pillow which helps me. It is filled with large pieces of foam, so I lay almost flat. I am a side sleeper also.
When I was first diagnosed with nocturnal seizures I bought a “non-suffocation” pillow in the event I flipped over. Had to order from UK so shipping cost as much as pillow. It was comfortable about a month but after that not so much. The search for a comfortable pillow is a pain. And I’ve read they should be replaced every 1-2 years. I’m at a loss for suggestions-🥱
Sleep problems due to neck pain were the start of my
journey with cervical osteoarthritis and a great physical therapist. I do most of the maneuvers every morning barely any problem now. Found cervical stenosis was not the real problem after proven to have bilateral carpal tunnel.
PMR therapy with prednisone for a year led to a nice remission that delayed the onset of diagnosis of the real
underlying cause. My autoimmunity stemmed from mild
psoriasis present for years. Lots of tendonitis and morning stiffness, low heart rate with hypotension and a minor
incomplete heart block all results of psoriatic arthritis.
Inflammation is a multiple organ systemic problem.
I’m doing really well for my age with minimal nuisance
limitation. I have access to fine doctors.
Takeaway is keep after difficult diagnoses and do our
research. I use a thin small soft pillow now.
Consider exploring buckwheat pillows. You can put or remove as many of the buckwheat hulls as you like if you get the right type. It takes a day or two to get the right number of hulls so that you get the firmness you need. If you keep the casing clean by covering it with a couple of pillowcases, it will probably last over 10 years. Some people claim they are too noisy lol. Even at age 65 I did not find these type of pillows noisy. But, if you are very sensitive to sound, that is something to be aware of. Good luck!
