Shingrix and peripheral neuropathy
4 days after my 2nd Shingrix vaccination, I suddenly developed intense peripheral neuropathy in both feet...for the first time in my life...anyone else?

The company that makes Shingrix actually does say that it has been linked to GBS and that it can trigger underlying conditions. In my case I now have the most painful Sciatica which may end up to be GBS as I have significant nerve problems throughout my body which I had found ways to control from a pain perspective but which are now manifesting as sciatica plus pain in my arms (so far). I intend to follow up with a lawyer if this continues or gets worse. As I understand it, there is a class action lawsuit being discussed here in Canada
I received the vaccine for shingles,in October last year and went downhill almost straightaway. It took months to get a diagnosis of SFN which has been updated to LFN. I am so wishing I didn’t have that vaccine
This is not true., The pharm company issued advisories about GBS, and has stated that the vaccine can trigger underlying conditions (including nerve issues). Docs and pharmacists are all aware of the dangers of this and other vaccines.
Hi Steve. I have suffered from some sort of neurological and possibly circulation issues for 50 years and I've been to one medical doc after another with no diagnosis. The symptoms are burning feet alternating with cold, and extreme neuralgia down one side or the other that incapacitates me for up to 4 days at a time. Western medical doctors are untrained or have very limited training and understanding of the human body (in my opinion). I left the medical profession and went to chinese medicine, functional medicine and naturapathy which has (finally) helped by identifying root causes (pleural). The problem is the expense of going down this path, and then paying out of pocket for treatment (IV Ozone, IV lipoic acid, and other IV vitamin and mineral bags). I've had bad reactions to vaccines in the past, all related to triggering nerve pain throughout my body. I live in fear of getting gillam barre syndrome from any or all vaccines, as this is always listed as a possible but rare side effect of vaccines by pharm companies. If you don't know about this, its because your pharmacist or GP didn't tell you. In any case, if you can, move into naturapathy and chinese medicine. You will have some success - but stay away from vaccines even though there is a risk. Its a balancing act between side effects of the vaccines (which you suffer from) vs getting what the vaccines are supposed to prevent (like covid). I'm not an anti-vaxer, but like you my pain is too severe to want to put myself into this position of taking vaccines again. Look to naturapathy, and IV lipoic acid. This is my layman's experienced advice.
Me too. What is SFN and LFN?
Hi, I am so sorry to hear what you are going through. I know exactly how you feel. I am going through the same thing. I wish I hadn’t gotten the shingles vaccine. All of the worst case side effects should have been divulged prior to getting the Shingrix vaccine. If I had known, I would never have gotten it. I had been told by my Dr to get it. I truly regret it. Chronic nerve pain, headaches, tremors, etc. All they told me is that I would have a sore arm for a few days. It truly was not worth living like this for probably the rest of my life. I would rather have a case of shingles. No one’s deserves this.
Thank you for that info on natural therapies. I have made initial inquiries into acupuncture but tho cost is huge and they said you need many visits. Would you mind explaining lipoic acid .
Hi. Acupuncture isn't a treatment that was right for the kind of neurological pain I have. Nerve are kept functioning as they should through lipoic acid. Many people get enough in their diet, but when they start having neurological problems its often (but not always) because of lack of adequate amounts of lipoic acid. I had 12 treatments (one IV drip per week) at which point much of the pain I've experienced for many years became much 'lessened' (not gone, but a lot better). Each IV bag was around $275 and it takes about 1.5 hours for the drip. Maybe you could share some of your symptoms or issues you suffer from? I have multiple paths I've taken, and taken together they've given me back my life. I was on tylenol 3 for a lot of years (1-2/day) and then was able to go off for the most part since the lipoic acid meant I didn't have the same pain issues. The one exception is neuralgia which happens down one side or the other about once/year. It lasts 2-3 days and is excruciating. I am pursuing diagnostics and alternative therapies for this, as opposed to hanging onto tylenol 3 for once-yearly bouts. I can share lots more information about the different diagnostics and treatments that are mostly outside of the western medicine world, but I don't know exactly what your issues are?
Yes I'm in a small town in western Colorado.
No I did not file a report. Thank you for the links.
