Meningioma
I just found out I have a Meningioma tumor from a MRI I had for something else. Doctor said they are almost always benign and am going to get an appointment with a neurologist. Anyone else have one of these. I’m getting very frightened now.

Hi, I just found out I have a timy Meningioma tumor from a MRI also and my Doctor said they are almost always benign. I too, am going to get an apointmetnt with a neurologist. My Doctor also said they may just wait and see what happens. Best of wishes!

Waiting for my neurosurgeon appointment to see what’s next. I have some anxiety but feel lucky this is almost always not cancer. How are you feeling?
I'm feeling good, but I feel like I'm getting more frequent headaches. I am also have some anxiety but knowing that it's probably not cancer makes me feel more relaxed. Let me know what your neurosurgeon says. Have a good evening!

Yes, I was diagnosed with one in 2019. Unfortunately, the discovery came too late to spare the damage to my optic nerve and vision. It had grown wrapped around my optic nerve sheath, so the doctors wouldn’t even biopsy it, much less perform surgery to remove it. I ended up undergoing 28 daily radiation treatments to kill the tumor. It did not restore my vision, but it is not currently growing. For reference, I was 55 when diagnosed.

2 ReactionsHi, sorry to hear about your vision. My doctors keep telling me that my meningioma is tiny and is taking the wait and see approach. I'm a little nervous about knowing it's there and it could cause problems. I know my vision has changed and have to wear stronger glasses all the time. I guess I'll just wait and keep an eye on it. I also have a pituitary adenoma that I am watching. Glad to hear it is not growing!
I had one in April 2022. I understand every person’s results are different. Benign meningioma was successfully removed. I woke up with drop foot and possibly neuropathy. My sister, an RN, suggested possibly that restraints on arms/legs surgery were not routinely loosened and retightened. For blood flow. I guess I would make that a point to doctor. Be your best advocate.
