I had bladder prolapse surgery - Colpoclesi - and it took care of it, gave me a new lease on life.

Thank you for the encouragement. I am having a sacral colpopexy, supracervical hysterectomy, bilateral salpingectomies and posterior colporrhaphy. It all sounds overwhelming to me, but doc said it's laparoscopy and I can come home the same day. So maybe it's not as much as it sounds.

Yes I have rectum prolapse and vagina two surgeries one day and few months late sling surgery for my
bladder, Did well with all 3 surgery.

I have a significant bladder prolapse that I happily handle with a pessary (the one that looks like a diaphragm) and kegels. My internist wants me to consider bladder prolapse surgery, but it seems like such a big surgery to contend with and my inclination is to avoid surgery due to my somewhat delicate health.

I am not sexually active and in my late 60s. Reading a bit on Cleveland Clinic about partial colpocleisis, which is not "big picture" attractive to me but on a smaller scale is attractive as it is much easier on the body, seems like something I could do when I hit my 70s or 80s and/or approach a time when the pessary isn't working or isn't age appropriate.

I know a lot of it is personal preference. Other than that, am I missing anything in my thinking process? I will be visiting a gifted surgeon for a consult this Fall. She is very successful and hopefully wouldn't pitch her services from a business standpoint.

I had the "partial colpoclesis," also called Le Fort method, on May 4. I submitted a question a couple of weeks ago regarding anyone's experience with it (see the topic "Bladder urgency after Le Forte Colpocleisis"). I had the procedure and am satisfied with it, except I still have bladder issues, either a normal part of recovery or the bladder sling is too tight or something. I have begun Pelvic Floor PT, learning to activate/strengthen core muscles, and the therapist does some internal massage to stretch and smooth out scar tissue. That treatment has been the most helpful! My urine stream is more normal now and I feel that my bladder empties more completely. I am 71 y/o, single, and not going to have sex anymore, thus I chose the Le Fort method. Overall I am happier now without the uterine and bladder prolapse, but wonder if others have had the surgery too and have "twitchy" bladders.

That all makes sense and sounds good. So far, my bladder is working normally. Glad is better now too.

Had a Laproscopic Supracervical Hysterectomy, Bilateral Salpingectomies, Laprascopic Sacral Colpopexy, and Posterior Colporrhaphy. Surgery was 2 1/2 hours, 2 hours in recovery, then home. Had no complications. Home nurse came out next day to remove packing (through navel), 2nd day nurse came out to remove catheter. All went well. Minimal pain, good appetite, No bowel problems, urinating fine. Would recommend to anybody that is afraid (like I was). It's been 3 weeks now, and I didn't even feel like I had surgery after 3 days. Took pain med 3 nights to help me sleep, and just Tylenol ES, once a day. Louise Harper

I had Colpoclesi surgery in August with excellent results. Stayed overnight in the hospital. Had some discomfort from bladder sling, also some bladder urgency. I would highly recommend this surgery.
