What helps improve osteoporosis without medication?

Posted by imatine @imatine, Dec 4, 2020

Hello, did anyone here try to heal from osteoporosis away from all the prescribed medications we all know of? Did you try following a specific diet? Excercise? Meditation, etc. ? Thank you

I bought a Marodyne LIV device too. Still waiting for delivery. I’m scheduled to have a repeat Dexa scan in November 2023. Hopefully the result will show some improvement.

I contacted the Marodyne company but never got a reply. How long have you been waiting for delivery?

I ordered it on 4/10/2023. I was told that it takes 4 weeks because the devices are made in Germany. The company is COPA Health based in Florida. Cost is $3200 + shipping $98. No sale tax since I don’t reside in Florida. 2 years warranty. The device is supposed to be quite sturdy and will last > 10 years. In case of malfunction the company can service the Marodyne.
There is a post of someone who bought it from Germany and it was delivered quickly. I don’t know how long ago.

@naomimd Both of these links relate to collagen peptides, not to Marodyne LIV, at least not that I can see.

Oh, dear -- I posted the wrong links. This is what happens when you've collected too much data! Here's the link from trial data out of New Zealand. "No previous studies have compared the effect of LIV alone or in combination with bone-targeted HiRIT (with or without osteoporosis medications) on risk factors for hip fracture in postmenopausal women with low bone mass. Should either, both, or combined mechanical interventions be safe and efficacious, alternative therapeutic avenues will be available to individuals at elevated risk of fragility fracture who are unresponsive to or unwilling or unable to take osteoporosis medications."

Not yet. It will be a while. However there is another study showing that the low intensity vibration platform stopped phone loss in women with osteoporosis although it did not create any improvements during the time they were studied. This was done with a control group and the control group continued to lose bone mass. I will post the link in a little while.

I am concerned about risks for those of us with severe osteoporosis and/or fractures.

I know. Mine is considered severe too, although thankfully no fractures. Here is a link to another study. This trial shows stabilization versus continued decrease in placebo group.  https://asbmr.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/jbmr.4229
(If this is the same link I sent before, please let me know. I'm trying to go back and forth on my phone between the information I received from a doctor friend and this page. It's a little confusing.)
