Tinnitus research: Any new techniques in abating tinnitus?

Hi, my husband recently got a Signia hearing aid from Mayo and was told it has built-in "Notch Therapy" that really helps to reduce tonal tinnitus.

Yes, his hearing aid brand is Signia. There may be other brands that also have the static noise therapy signals, which use a form of sound to mix in with the tinnitus sounds to distract from the tinnitus. An audiologist could advise. Best luck, Rau.

Wish I’d seen this before committing to buying ReSound soon but I’ve been using loaners the audiologist programmed brown noise to help deal with tinnitus . It helps with lower level tinnitus but nothing over comes louder.

If you are interested there’s a tinnitus forum it’s other countries too so it’s a lot of resources google “ tinnitus talk” forum.
I wish Mayo Clinic would join forces with their very impressive moderator and keep all tinnitus sufferers up to date with studies.

Ps the latest thing I read about is a device credited to Susan Shore of Michigan University you can Google it. I was so hopeful but after reading the study it may or may not be available to me and who knows when it will ever get to the market place.

Did the 36 week study in Ann Arbor .. haven’t received my results yet..
