Hi, My name is Mahima Jhavar and I am form India

My mother has lung fibrosis and rheumatoid arthritis.
Are there any free healthcare services and doctors that can help us out?
We are unable to finance the whole procedure and need financial assistance for the same.
Can anyone help me with the details

FQHCs (Federally Qualified Health Centers) and most hospitals are non-profits and have a self-pay sliding fee scale. This means that they adjust the amount that you pay based on your income and family size (household). Speak with their finance department and usually they will help you figure out something that you can afford.

@mahimajhavar15 Good day, and welcome to Mayo Connect.
I see that you are from India - is that where you would be seeking health care for your mother, or are you both in the US or Canada? This information makes a huge difference in the information you may be offered, because health care funding varies greatly between countries.

Hello @sueinmn Good Day. Thank You for your reply.
We are both based in India and seeking healthcare in India itself.
But if we can connect to doctors abroad who can help us online or give online consultancy would be of great assistance.

Hello @chickytina Thank You for your reply.
Are these FQHCs in the US or in other countries as well?
Also, do they help with online consultation? since we are based in India.
Please let me know if you know about this.

I believe they are only in the US, since they are government backed. You would need to look to see if there are any NGOs in India that would be able to assist you.
