I'm having tachycardia issues
Hi,
I'm new to this group, but not new to Connect. I'm having dizziness when I walk for exercise, and I've had tachycardia for quite some time, my doctor has ordered a heart monitor for 48 hours and an echocardiogram. I had my heart tested at Mayo in 2014, so in looking at my old records, I had tachycardia back then even! Is there anything I should know, and questions I should ask next week when I go in for this procedure?

A TV star passed away recently, due to tachycardia, at age 67. I read the news regarding his health, and he had something similar. Perhaps my life expectancy is 67 years? I take atenolol pill daily now, and my heart rae has been below 100 bpm each time it's been measured since I started this med. my echocardiogram said hypertrophy.
This was a very thoughtful, detailed and informative reply.
Pretty good news about your experience with Atenolol, a beta blocker that seems to work well against arrythmia in the heart. My wife has been on that medication for 10 years or more, after experiencing tachycardia. She thinks that the medication plus an hour's exercise three times a week has kept the problem at bay. Martin
Heart monitor says I have tachycardia. Anyone else hav this. I'm knew and worried.
Which monitor (brand & model)?
Kardiamobile 6L ECG monitor with the premium service package features ECG strip review by a staff cardiologist. QALY app also provides a PQRST/ECG strip clinical review (rhythm & ECG morphology).
I'd submit the ECG to one of the cardiologists for review (before panicking).
Stay safe & all the best!
I don't know what kind Mitchell was pasted in my chest, no leads. Two weeks and kept diary when I felt it. Taking metoprolo succinate 25mg. Try it for a week.i get so tired and can't sleep at nite.
Welcome, @soapopera123. Good for you for keeping a diary. This will help your doctors. I agree with @shoshin that you don't want to panic. I know this is worrisome. You are being monitored and that is good.
I moved your posts to this existing discussion:

I did this so you can read the previous posts. Like you @Erinmfs was very worried with she experienced tachycardia. She received helpful replies from members like @predictable @windyshores @danab and others.
@soapopera123, when do you meet with your cardiologist again?
@soapopera123 I cannot tolerate beta blockers either. I wonder if your doc has some other suggestions. ( I have diltiazem on hand but my afib and tachycardia are sporadic so I only take it as needed.)
Do you tend toward low blood pressure? That is one reason I have trouble with drugs like metoprolol.
Yes my pressure runs low anyway. Just hate being on this met forever.
I'm just wondering if this serious. This is my primary dr. Is taking care of me. Wondering if I should see a cardiologist
