Hi @kngillespie, I also wear compression socks to treat my lymphedema in the legs. I haven't noticed any increase of abdominal pressure or bloating but I do occassionaly have some bloating and pressure in the stomach area but it doesn't happen often. It must be terribly uncomfortable for you. Have you discussed the symptoms with your doctor?
Hi @kngillespie,
I get bloating when I wear compression socks. I only started using them a week ago but everyday I get so bloated. Did you figure out why? Thx
I have worn compression stockings for about 10 yrs to help with afib. Have not had any of the problems mentioned. Only wear them during the day and try to do some form of exercise each day.
Me too. Did you do anything to stop it.
Yes. And my breath is labored because of it.
I have been wearing them for years have not had the symptoms you noted. (Both compression hose and compression socks at different times). You may already know this; if not, the "medical" compression hose come in different compression "strengths" which may make a difference. Also open toes and not. I always wore the open toes version so not as likely to cramp my feet. I found that those supplied by medical products stores had more varieties but they were also far more expensive than those I bought on line. I was told by MDs not to wear compression hose all the time ... not at bed time and the like. I noted that one of the respondents here said to get some exercise during the day. I am up and around quite a bit every day so that may well make a difference.
