Are long haulers more prone to long covid after another infection?

Mine got worse ater a shingles vaccine.

I posted the original question. Does anyone know if long haulers are more prone to long Covid after a second infection? Has anyone’s symptoms come back or worsened after another infection?

My original onset - overnight, like being hit by a Mack Truck - of Long COVID symptoms was 09/2020 after an asymptomatic initial infection. Long before vaccination was available. Heart racing/palpitations; chest pain/pressure; dizziness; shortness of breath; brain fog; fatigue. All aggravated with little to no exertion. As with most of us, all diagnostic testing was inconclusive. I went through a breathing clinic made available by our local opera; 24 sessions of Cardio-Pulmonary Rehab. I think the most beneficial effect from those was meeting so many others experiencing the same struggles. It is always nice to know you are not alone. I did experience improvement over the course of 2 1/2 years, but still had all symptoms to some degree. Then, in early March, 2023 had a second COVID infection. This time quite severe, but no hospitalization. Just home care. A cough was added to my original symptoms that still lingers.

So, to answer your question, yes, in the past couple of weeks all my symptoms have been ramping up in severity. I actually hadn’t realized how much I had improved until everything went south again. I have a follow-up appointment at the local Post COVID Recovery Clinic 4/19/2023.

Then I’m not going crazy. This past week I’ve needed to get into bed by 3 pm and unlike prior months of this fatigue which finally let up before my second infection, I actually fall asleep. I’ve developed a raspy cough and my head issues are worse as well. I’m so sorry that you’re experiencing this also. Thank you for posting. It does make me feel supported. Feel better.

No, not crazy. At least that is what my therapist tells me 😏
