Was doing some research on Symptoms of Lyme Disease the other night and ran into similar symptoms of Mold Toxcity. Does anyone know anything about it?
Thanks,

There is an expert in mold toxicity and how to test and eradicate it in your home. It’s critical to test and remove the mold by experts or recovery is very difficult. His name is Michael Schrantz and he’s extremely knowledgeable. I’ve consulted with him a few times. My doctor recommended I consult with him after testing showed I had mold in my system that was affecting my energy and digestion. His website is environmentalanalytics.net.
He is definitely worth speaking to.

Hi! I’m not sure when to leave my home. Ian damaged the roof. Have to remove attic insulation, not sure what else but at this moment I’m stuck in limbo with UPC insolvent so knowing all remediation needing done is, good😞, but not knowing much because both adjusters took pics after roof tarped. They said I was lucky; no water intrusion. WELL damage doesn’t show up until 6 months later. Nobody wants to deal with ME because of the insurance problem. I think I can get enough money to fix it but everyone is fixated on the insurance money. The air/mold inspector was referred by the mold mitigation person who, suddenly said he doesn’t work with insolvent companies. The tester actually billed UPC because that’s what they’re supposed to do….take care of people’s health. Now the mitigation guy says “why he test the air quality? He should only check for mold!” Can you believe? And this is just the tip of the iceberg because of my SLE and the type mold that is contained in the attic is one of the bad black molds. And everyone is asking me to do their work…”find out” things, etc. the stress, the environment now I’m living in, not knowing anything but my doctor says I need to leave until it’s fixed, but I have 5 cats who don’t all get along. At the rate the officials are going, I can’t afford to pack up..and go where? Again, remember IT IS ME WHO HAS TO PAY AND WAIT FOR MY MONEY, while these business guys are quibbling over everything but my health.
Sorry but it’s my life NOW in Fort Myers, FL. I am thankful to have a house and kind of a roof. lol

I highly recommend you consult Michael Schrantz at environmentalanalytics.net. It sounds like you are not dealing with reputable companies. I was taken for $1000 before I realized the guy didn’t really know how to test accurately and do the remediation. And I realized I didn’t know what I didn’t know and needed someone who could answer my questions. Michael Schrantz was recommended by my doctor and it was the best money I spent, about $350. The testing and remediation is costly. We had to replace our air ducts. Get our hvac tested and cleaned. Remove carpeting because mold spores are in it. It’s a process but necessary if you want to remain in your house.
Best to you.

I have to have more mold remediation companies come & give me estimates before March 31st, when UPC insurance officially is no longer a business.
Thank you for your help! This wouldn’t be an issue if the company would have stopped writing policies in 2015 when they were already sinking. I have a home, with a roof so I’m fortunate.

To test if your body is reacting to molds, the test is called a Mycotoxin Panel test. My doctor ordered it and it was sent to my home. It’s a urine test that you send back to a lab that forwards the results to your doctor.

Hello @dayvu, Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. I'm not familiar with Mycotoxin testing but there is some information on the Mycotoxin tests National Institutes of Health website here:

Mycotoxin Detection in Human Samples from Patients Exposed to Environmental Molds
-- https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2680627/

Mayo Clinic also has some information on mold allergy diagnosis and treatment that may be helpful
-- https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/mold-allergy/diagnosis-treatment/drc-20351525

Also found some information from the on urine testing validity that may provide some information for you.

Notes from the Field: Use of Unvalidated Urine Mycotoxin Tests for the Clinical Diagnosis of Illness — United States, 2014
-- https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/preview/mmwrhtml/mm6406a7.htm

@glenb may be able to provide more information for you on the test. If you would like to seek help from Mayo Clinic, contact one of the appointment offices. The contact information for Minnesota, Arizona and Florida can be found here http://mayocl.in/1mtmR63.

This is great information, but does Mayo clinic treat Mold toxicity or only mold allergies?

Welcome @susanchere, I don't know for sure. My way of thinking is that mold toxicity can also be a result of having mold allergies and being affected by something in your environment. I would think they treat both if they treat mold allergies. You can have an allergy and not be affected as long as you don't come in contact with the toxic mold (just my non medical opinion).

You can find the Mayo Clinic contact information for Rochester, Arizona and Florida locations here - http://mayocl.in/1mtmR63. I would think they could answer your question.

Have you tried calling or requesting an appointment?

I was exposed for about 2 yrs before we found that inside our entire west exterior wall was covered in toxic black mold with 3 of the most toxic molds . Symptoms: began with my head feeling on fire some of the time which progressed to most all the time very red face and feeling very hot and head on fire . Skin rashes on arms, face, neck , chest, and these still come and go. Sores on face and arms, systic acne and cysts on back, arms , and random other parts of my body, hypertension , eyes burn and itch, trouble swallowing and developed choking problem. I now have beginning stages of asthma and I use an inhaler daily. Very low energy probably chronic fatigue. Aches and new random pain throughout body with headaches. My body is producing too much histamine now so that causes stomach problems . Nausea pretty much daily . As the months went by without knowing we had mold I continue to get worse . I feel like I have the flu all the time . I have sore throat most all the time also . I have flare ups or episodes where I have to stop and My brain is on fire and feel very bad and then it passes after 5-10 mins. 15 Drs could not figure me out . I had so many tests and lab work done and they told me to go to Mayo Clinic . After we found the mold we moved in 3 days . I contacted the Drs I had seen and most of them would not see me because they said they could not help me . I found a very good doctor in Dallas who specializes in Mold cases and he has helped me some . Toxic mold poisoning is real and it can cause: your organs to shut down, cancer, finished cognitive ability ( brain fog ), and it ravaged my immune system . Now any health issue is 10 times worse . Any allergy I had before is much worse . I take about 17 different kind of meds everyday. I definitely have brain fog, and people will think you are crazy but ignore them . I also met a great Dermologist who herself had mold poisoning and it took her 2 yrs to get back to work and she really has helped me get on the right path. There is no cure . It can kill. My doctor in Dallas did a Urine test and blood test and they found mycotoxins in my blood and urine . Which is bad so now I have to try to get my body to eliminate these out of my body. I will post more at a later time . Please take mold very serious, it can kill but at the least make a persons life miserable .
