Anyone have any nebulizer recommendations?

Posted by marlin @marlin, Nov 3, 2021

Does anyone have any nebulizer recommendations. Would like something compact and easy to clean. Also any online sites that people recommend to get your supplies such as nebulizer and saline vials from? briefly looking it seems like there are a lot of options and they are fairly inexpensive.

I use the Vios Go Green nebulizer. I got it at the hospital pharmacy when I got my PARI kit and saline. I love it and have not had any issues with it.

I too am at a loss - my InnospireGo gave up the ghost last week, my Pari Big Green Machine is 1500 miles away, and I need a new portable. I hoped for a handheld, but not interested in spending hundreds again so I ordered, for the third time, a DeVilbiss Traveler from Just Nebulizers for under $100. Don't worry, the first two didn't break, they were "borrowed" by my daughters, who are still using them (my grandson will not tolerate the sound of the big Pari.) I figure if a six year old can't break it, neither can I.

None of the cheaper mist inhalers can be adequately sterilized - their recommendations for peroxide soaks just don't cut it with MAC or Pseudomonas.

All of you that use the Pari Trek portable nebulizer, how long does it take to nebulize a vial of saline solution.
I found the Pari ProNeb took me an hour to neb a vial of saline. Anyone else have that problem?
Thanks,
Sally

That’s good to know about the DeVilbiss Traveler and sound. I have a regular DeVilbiss at home and it is loud. Right now I have a Trek S for travel and it is much quieter than my home DeVilbiss.

My deciding point was that with 2 already in the family, if any one of them dies we can swap batteries and power supplies around.
Also, will keep neb supplies & separate mouthpiece at home for my grandson.

Maybe you need to replace your filter. If that doesn't help, contact the company or change nebulizers (the mouthpiece.) Or the compressor may just be wearing out. No way it should take that long.

Sue,
I do not own a PARI Trek. I am thinking about buying one. I wanted to know how long it takes to nebulize on one before I purchase it.
I do own a Pari ProNeb which takes an hour to neubulize a vile of saline.
Thanks,

Same advice for the ProNeb - no nebulizer is that slow if working correctly. Yours has a 5 year warranty, and if it older than that, the compressor is porbably worn out.
Also, I find the Sprint nebulizers themselves to be "putzy" - sometimes malfunction or need adjusting to deliver the meds. I prefer the cheaper (but reusable) ones like they use in the hospital - much faster. I buy them 10 at a time, use 2 in rotation, wash daily & sterilize once a week. Just a personal preference - for me, simpler is better.
