Autoimmune Issues and Dental Problems
Does anyone know if autoimmune issues can be related to dental bone loss, or the IVIG treatments causing these or other dental problems?

Now that IS something I can do!
Thank you so very much!! Very kind of you to reply again!
Thank you for the encouragement to keep up with periodontal cleaning and also with my hygienist at my dental office. I sometimes have people tell me that I spend way too much time and money on two doctors monitoring my dental health. They just don’t understand that I’ve had reshaping of my bones to get rid of periodontal disease and I don’t want to loose the benefits from that expensive procedure. I’ve never had the most healthy teeth in the family.
HI, Nancy,
On a side note, try not to pay attention to the weenies who know nothing about your health but still think that they are entitled to criticize you. Easier said than done, I know.
I have a lot of opinionated relatives who make ignorant comments all the time. It's annoying, frustrating, and it makes me sad. I have to keep telling myself that they mean well...
Good luck with your teeth! and your family/friends/ well-meaning weenies.
What's a "weenie?"
I have Neurofibromitosis type 2 and lost all of my teeth by age 50, fortunately I had a great dentist. He made me beautiful teeth and no one ever knew. Now
I have no gums to hold my teeth, that’s the disease. Not your problem! There
is a toothpaste for gum issues, try it. Best of luck to you.

I noticed since I had my hip rev. in 2020 that my gums were receding at an alarming rate…since then I’ve lost a cap, a filling & have been developing “pus filled blisters” on my tonsils. The 3rd one just popped (exploded) yesterday. It hurt more than just a cough….I didn’t realize it was there until I looked & pus in my mouth & a red irritated spot on my rite tonsil…where all 3 have been…not same spot just same side.
I’m afraid it’s like small pseudo tumors from my old hip. I don’t think there’s any way it can be good. HELP. I don’t know where to go or who to see. It’s not like they’re there all the time so a Dr could see
joyajoe. Two questions. 1) What holds your dentures in place if no gums? and
2) Can you pass along the name of the toothpaste? I'm using Colgate for sensitive teeth/gums but it is so thick and sticky, it is hard to get it rinsed off after brushing. I'm 77 and have tried so hard to save my natural teeth. Was doing pretty good with crowns, cleanings and exams every 4 months but my dentist is incompetent, or lazy. I see oral surgeon on Wed to discuss extracting 15 teeth. Thanks for your post/sharing.
@sickofbeinsick1 .. How difficult for you! Have you talked to your doctor about the sores in your mouth? Or, do you have a good dentist? They are trained to see all the problems in a mouth. If you don’t have a dentist, look for a general dentist and then ask for a referral to a specialized dentist. You don’t want to wait too long, as mouth sores can be a problem.

This web site by the American Dental Association has some good tips on finding a dentist.
Will you call both your doctor and dentist and explain that you have pus-filled sores in your mouth and need to be seen? Then let me know what they say!
Yes. I was diagnosed with RA six years ago. Along the way, I developed gum disease, part to the dry mouth from Sjogren’s. It is very disheartening losing your teeth because if that. I spend lots of time cleaning my teeth too.
Help please!
Anyone with Baker’s cysts?
They are the painful annoying fluid cysts in the back of your knees. I happen to have it it in both knees ( bilateral ) very rare in both. My knees and legs are swollen and painful
Been on oral steroids for more than one month (40mg daily first, now 30 mg daily $ but I still can’t walk normally
I have to limp. I can’t bend the knees. They are better but I still feel pain and cannot really bend the knees
Anyone? Treatments other than oral steroids? My mood is terrible, very irritated due to the meds
Thanks a million
