The Berkman is the best. Awesome staff and service. Pet friendly, has a roof top level for pets to relieve themselves. Shower place for grooming if you need
Hi @jac08 We usually stay at the Marriott Residence Inn on Center Street, which is connected via the subway (underground walkway) to the clinic. They’re pet friendly and also located in an area with plenty of sidewalks and pet friendly trails for exercise.
Many of the hotels have kitchenettes or full kitchens which feels more like home for food prep and storage.

When you decide on a hotel, there can be an advantage to calling directly to that hotel to get the best rate. Most of the hotels near the clinic will offer a Mayo patient discount.
Do you have a dog or kitty?
We have an older dog and have stayed at the Staybridge Inn and Suites in NW Rochester. Friendly staff, full kitchens, clean suites, great restaurants, and a Mayo Clinic shuttle.
We stayed at the Candlewood Suites (an IHG family property) 2 miles from Mayo. They are pet friendly with a $15 nightly pet fee (up to $75 I think). While they offered a free shuttle, the timing didn't work out for us, so we Ubered for under $10 per trip.
I bring my 2 small dogs with their crates and stay in a suite at the Centerstone Plaza at Soldier Field. Free shuttle service any time to Mayo Clinic.
What location?
Centerstone Plaza is in Rochester, MN. It's walking distance to Mayo Clinic (about 4 or 5 blocks) but is not connected via the underground walkway
Hi @rbcookson
The Marriott Residence Inn is located at:
441 W Center Street, Rochester
507-292-1400
The hotel is about 2 blocks from the clinic. The rooms are a little dated but it’s clean with friendly and helpful staff. It’s connected directly to the clinic via the subway walking system.
Super convenient if you have breaks between appts to walk back to your apartment to veg out. When you’re in the elevator the S button will take you to the Subway level and a quick left and you’re walking your way to the Clinic inside away from the weather.
There is indoor parking (for a fee) or outdoor parking.
Each room has either a kitchenette or full kitchen. We stay there every time we return to Rochester for followups.
Do you have any questions about your visit coming up?
Thank you so much! Very helpful!
Make sure you read fine print or call hotel directly when they say they are ''Pet Friendly". I have been charged an extra $100 for my dog at a pet friendly Marriott. Each hotel has it's own policies.
Also, calling hotel directly allows you to ask about a Mayo discount.
