Post covid itch and hives

Hi @tania7. As you have chance to review posts, will see many different rashes, hives, bumps, and itch without any of the above and personal ways we have dealt with them🙃. I found wearing a slightly wet ice packed towel on areas helped. Found most doctors dont realize our symptoms are preventing previous daily showers etc so good daily moisturizer seemed to help too. I also started experiencing reddened, itchy patches, areas on my arms, chest, neck in month 11 post covid. The rash is teeny bumps difficult to see until scratched at which point they become large, swollen patches. Claritin helps itch but comes back. Dermatologist gave me prednisone for two weeks and it cleared but returned about 3-5 days after stopping. My fingernails continue to lift and fall off as well. I’m now in month 13 post covid, as well as having Covid infection for a second time in February. Rumbling vibrations in my head continue…

Have you tried monthly xyolair shots? Can help with post viral hives. Usually from an allergist.

No rash or hives but severe itching, usually legs & ankles. Sometimes arms & hands. Worse at night. Benadryl helps but knocks me out. I found something that helps some: a liquid topical. Itchy Wart Vanishing Roll-on by Urban Releaf.

Yes- have severe itching with some hives on ankles, soles and palms. Tried OTC cortisone creams for eczema - some temporary relief.
Dermatologists I’ve seen have “no idea” on this phenom.

Regular Sarna lotion is a life-saver if you’re suffering from severe skin itch or rashes. It has camphor in it to numb, and menthol to cool.

I have peeling skin all over my face and hives and raw skin all around my eyes. I am seventy-five and always looked at least 10 years younger. I had covid at the end of August and thought I was over it. In November I had a laser treatment on broken capillaries on my face. Instead of making my face look better, it seemed to trigger more rosacea. I was all broken out with acne the next day. Now my skin is mottled, keeps peeling and my eyelids and all around my eyes is raw and red, itchy and painful. I look like I am eight-five now. I don't even want to go out anywhere. At this point I just cry. The plastic surgeon who did the procedure and the dermatologist treat me like I am crazy. I am a widow so I have no support. The Rheumatologist believes I have long Covid and is the only one that treats me with respect.

I started getting very itchy hives during my Covid infection and they have continued post infection for 16 months now. I take Cetirizine and it goes away for 2-3 days, but then comes back. It’s very frustrating and I wonder if it will ever just go away.

Famotidine (Pepcid) plus Zyrtec(Cetirizine) both over the counter. Cytokine over-expression post Covid causing our insane symptoms. Tell your doctors that and tell them to go from there. Maybe they will order a cytokine panel and MAYBE your insurance will cover it!!!
