Hi @kaoru1106 -- since macular degeneration is a retinal issue, I've merged your post with this one in which members talk about a number of retinal issues. I thought that here you would meet the most members who might have some input on your macular degeneration, first in your left and then your right eye, with ranibizumab (Lucentis) injections each time. Please meet @peach414144 @hopeful33250 @rosemarya @bonitav @joan1234 and others. Hoping they will have some thoughts to share.

Your determination to be very on top of this is admirable.

If you are interested in reading some Mayo Clinic information on wet macular degeneration, here it is: https://mayocl.in/2lZeL7J.

@kaoru1106 -- are you looking for published clinical research on wet macular degeneration to read, or an open clinical trial to participate in?

Hi!

Thank you for merging my post to retina issues!

I am looking for an open clinical research to participate for Macular Degeneration. I have talked to my retina specialist and he encouraged to try...

Thank you for referring to some members!!

I am looking forward to getting know them!

Hello @kaoru1106 Kay,

I'm glad that you posted your concerns about macular degeneration on Mayo Connect. While I have never had that diagnosis it is certainly understandable that you would be concerned over any problem involving your vision! You are certainly to be applauded for your attempts to learn as much about this problem as you can and to be interested in participating in clinical trials. Did your doctor know of any clinical trials that you might take part in?

As Lisa mentioned in her post, another mentor on Connect, @rosemarya, has had some injections and she will undoubtedly respond to your concerns as well.

I look forward to hearing from you again and knowing what steps you are taking.

Hi .. I have early stage Macular Degeneration but the only treatment so far was injections for 'floaters' and one injection for the MD. I take Preservison 2 vitamins upon my retina specialist's recommendation. Recently I had cataract surgery in both eyes. Have a followup appointment with the retina specialist tomrrow. Hoping there's no bad news.

Wishing you the best in your search for a clinical research opening. Take care. Bonnie.
