Neuropathy caused by toxins, poisons and chemicals
We all read the safety notices on those household and garden chemicals...right? One of the lesser known side effects of some toxins, poisons and chemicals is toxic neuropathy. I'm hoping we can use this discussion to allow members to share their chemical induced neuropathy journey to learn from each other and to raise awareness of the possible dangers.

@domokane Hi, is your question about possible cause directed to me? Ed
Yes. If it's not indiscrete. You say that your neuro doctor may have bumped into a cause.
@domokane - Sure, no problem. I am 73 this month, last visit with primary neuro doc was Sept 2022, she spent a lot of time talking to me about my history and we began as a child. I happen to mention that back in the 50's and 60's some seashore towns would use a jeep style vehicle to spray for bugs and flies during summer mornings when winds would be low. As kids, we would chase the "spraying machine". Back then, DDT was used and removed from market in the early 70's causing neuro problems. My doc said they are finding out later in life, that DDT could cause neuro issues. So, a smoking gun?? She kind of thought it could be. Will never know for sure.

3 ReactionsWere the studies I linked to from ChatGPT not related to methylene chloride and neuropathy?
Do we maybe agree that the purpose of this site to to provide a way for patients to share info rather than argue tech issues? I am cautioned by articles such as these:

2 ReactionsYes mayonnaise 28 I agree with you. Also I think people treat it as a race to the bottom. Like one person's symptoms are worse than another persons. Should be about sharing relevant information. Or more importantly useful information.
Could you answer my question? Were the studies I posted not related to methylene chloride and neuropathy? Thanks.
Were the studies I shared not relevant or useful? I was trying to be helpful. No good deed goes unpunished.
When I check the links you posted, I get DOI NOT FOUND errors from the Doi foundation website. https://doi.org
I am not trying to criticize your methods, I believe you have been instrumental in shedding light on this topic. But as a former tech worker, I have a healthy distrust of shiny new tech tools that wow us with amazing features while they insinuate themselves into our every day lives before we even know what they are and how they do what they do. Google and other search engines can also sell you a bum steer. Hopefully beneath these search tools is a primary source that is vet-able.
Hi cookierockwell. As mayonnaise 28 said links wouldn't work but it was very kind of you to take the trouble to try. Thank you for that.
