Scheduled for bone biopsy what was your experience?

I was numbed & just felt pressure on my hip. No pain. Quick recovery.

In my first bmb in 2019 in AZ just had local, felt pressure, doc stopped and said “this is like going through rock”… when back in Nebraska in summer of 2021 went back to my doc who dx my CLL in 2013. I sent records that didn’t arrive, he said he wished he had my bmb results. I said you wanna do one, he said you want me to do one and I said sure, so he did with just local, easy peasy, Result was “no lypmhoma” (been told several times that luekima is really a lymphoma) had chemo for 6 cycles starting Dec 2019 when platelets nosedived. Been in remission since April of 2020—feel good but for some weakness, which I attribute to combination of chemo and COVID that I had in January 2022. Feeling grateful at age 75.

I had one done last fall and then about a month ago. Both done under light sedation. No pain and afterwards you could hardly feel you had anything done. No need to be scared or worry! 🤗

What’s your dx? And status now,?

Possible Peripheral T Cell Lymphoma NOS but doctor feels it may be something more related to Epstein Barr Virus and not as serious as PET scan looks like nodes are decreasing in size from previous scan done last fall. Praying for you that all goes well!

Hi! My bone marrow biopsy was done in the doctors office, and I only received an injection to numb the area at the site of the biopsy. It didn’t hurt too much. You’ll do great!

I've had three, The first was in a doctor's office, and the injection to numb the area worked until the needle got to the bone itself. The it hurt like H#$L. The next two were in a hospital outpatient clinic where I was given a medication to relax me as well as numb the area. I felt nothing either of those times.

Either way, you'll do fine, because even it you feel pain, it doesn't last long.

Just my opinion. I would get as much sedation as possible next time

My bmb was a breeze during and after. This was aided by a physician who provided a riveting narrative which had me both informed, distracted and entertained during the procedure.
