Post COVID: Anyone experiencing internal vibrations?

Posted by sharho @sharho, Jul 7, 2022

I have had long covid for over two years and a symptom began sporadically during the initial seven weeks that has worsened since a second covid experience. It began as a “flutter” in my chest upon waking, lasting 5 seconds or so. It is not painful just a new sensation I have never experienced. After getting covid again in February 2022, the internal vibrations have become full body and go on for forty seconds. It is always upon waking or falling asleep temporarily during meditation and waking again. Long Covid retired me from my profession and I am not under any stress. I had a recent cardiac incident (also due to long Covid) and wore a Holter monitor. I triggered it whilst having an IV incident: definitely not cardiac induced. Has anyone else experienced IV like this?

Hello,
Yes, I have the internal vibrations after COVID infection, 3 years in long hauler and I still have them.
Vibration is at night and wakes me up, it it’s scary but not painful. The vibrations feels from my lover part off the brain down to just about beginning off my ribs start. Usually impossible to fall asleep after this incident!
It it’s been hard to talk about this vibrations because it’s so ode and strange and never heard about,

I understand now that I’m not alone, and I can understand that people don’t want to talk about this having vibrations.
Keep strong through this.

I tested positive 3.5 weeks ago. I have never really recovered as far as energy, cough, etc. I’ve been experiencing strong vibrations for at least ten days. I finally called to make an appt with my doctor last week fearing it was my heart. Got worked in yesterday. My ekg was fine but I tested positive on the dimer test for clots so I had to go back for a cat scan which showed clusters of nodules and tree in bud patterns basically indicating I’m still full of Covid mucous and onset of pneumonia even though I had a chest X-ray a week ago. Thankfully, no clots but none of this addressed the vibrating which wakes me up and keeps me awake. They are strong and unsettling. My family has thought I was crazy when describing it. The doctor mentioned nothing about it being a Covid symptom so I was so thankful to find others experiencing the same when I finally googled it this morning. The thought of this worsening or lasting has me extremely stressed! My case of Covid was bad but not hospital-worthy…mainly upper-respiratory cough due to mucous and extreme fatigue. Never thought I’d have such a crazy and lingering symptom.

I have been rumbling, buzzing, tremoring, and shaking since January, so 8 plus months now. Yes!! It’s the worst when I first wake up. My whole body will rumble until I get up and move around a lot. I take 200mg gabapentin morning and night. 400mg daily. My neurologist has done two eegs and other tests. Everything comes back normal. I had to quit my old job because over exertion can make my symptoms bad for a week or more. But walking and being on my feet lessen my symptoms. It’s like my nervous system has PTSD. It’s tough because some doctors just think your crazy and it’s anxiety. Luckily some of my doctors believe me. One of my doctors literally doesn’t think I have long Covid. Luckily he is just a rehab doctor. I have had these internal full body vibrations ever sense I got Covid for months. Covid caused it. Also my teeth never stop chattering. Just because I can talk doctors just brush it off. I did a low histamine diet for awhile it helped. Then I slowly reintroduced food. Now I can eat normally. Except sometimes digesting food will give me pots. I also take 25mg hydroxyzine at night. I have been taking notes on my symptoms since the beginning and will post them soon to the internet. Just know it’s gets better. Sometimes it will come back and be real bad and then it gets better again. It’s a roller coaster. But I believe recovery is possible over long amounts of time and good diet. I am @covidlonghaul on Instagram.

You describe exactly how my symptoms are. Any relief? It’s been a year for me.

Yes! I literally say I feel like I’m vibrating on the instead for months now. My whole autonomic system is out of whack. Been wearing a track suit all summer long in 30 degree wheathwr. Always freezing a weird skin colouring. Pics say 1000 words.

I know everyone's long covid is different, but here's what helped me. I was having those internal vibrations along with heart palpitations, headaches, etc. etc. A combination of rest (I completely stopped trying to exercise or do any unnecessary exertion) and altered diet has helped me. I'm on a no-caffeine, almost-no-sugar, no-alcohol, low-carb diet. After a few weeks, the vibrations went away and I can finally sleep through the night. I'm cautiously easing back into very light exercise (i.e. going for walks; gentle yoga). I even treated myself to a tiny glass of wine the other night.
Hang in there! The vibrations are so weird and none of the doctors I talked to seemed to know how to help with them.

I had this and I found help and it is going away. My practitioners are a FUNCTIONAL Neurologist (NOT a regular Neurologist)
And a holistic nutritionist…
The functional neurologist does lasers on my gut and brain and Brain retraining in his office. The nutritionist has me on a STRICT diet and does testing to figure out what supplements I need on a monthly basis. And I do hyperbaric oxygen chamber and infared sauna. It is all helping!

These are all pay out of pocket remedies so not through a healthcare system and THAT is why you get results!! I googled Functional Neurology in N Cal…and NorCal Brain Center in San Jose on Moorpark Ave. looks like an amazing place to get help! And I googled holistic nutritionist and bunch of them came up in northern CA…you live in the best state for help! Im in Iowa and we have nothing here…you have experts all over your state!! Please message me if you need more help!
