Surgery locations
As long as it does not violate any privacy concerns, and certainly up to the individual who is posting, I would like to know where surgeries have been done, would they recommend a certain hospital/doctor/method of procedure.
Thank you!

In Ontario, Canada- at the University Health Network in Toronto.
Diagnosed with stage 3 pancreatic cancer in Jan 2021, surgery at UHN in Feb 2021, followed by 12 folfirinox treatments.
Thank you! I hope this information will be helpful to those of us who may be facing surgery, wherever we live.
Hope you are doing well~
We have been exceedingly happy with the surgical oncologist at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center in Central Pennsylvania.
Thank you! So appreciate these responses.
I was diagnosed July 2021, adenocarcinoma of the pancreas, had 12 rounds of Folfirinox/5-FU followed by the
Whipple procedure which was performed at Mayo Clinic by Dr Mark Truty. I high recommend the Mayo Clinic as well as Dr Truty and his team. Good luck and God Bless!
Thank you! I am currently monitoring an 8mm dilated pd with IPMN in the head. I have seen
Dr. Motaz Qadan at Mass General for an opinion and Dr David Mahvi of MUSC in Charleston, SC. We live in Hilton Head but my primary doctor for this particular issue is Dr. Ken Lee at UPMC in Pittsburgh, PA. One thinks Whipple is inevitable, one says not necessarily, and one thinks I should consider doing it prophylacticly since I am relatively young (70) and in good health. So I've just been very curious as to where and who people have chosen.

Hello, I am near you in Atlanta. I struggled with decisions not unlike yours. I did go to MD Anderson in Houston for a 2nd opinion. It correlated with my oncologist’s proposal here. When surgery became an option I looked again. My decision was to work with Dr. Eddie Abdalla here in Atlanta. I am so glad I made this decision. His specialties are pancreas AND liver(the most common place for metastesis). His experience prior to being in Atlanta was exceptional and focused in these areas. I would strongly recommend you engage them to review your scans for another opinion. The hospitals are excellent here and I don’t think you will find a more prepared surgeon!

Were you diagnosed with pancreatic cancer?
My MRI's every 6 months and ERCP's have also had benign biopsies. I've been told that many people with IPMN's have chosen monitoring, as I have so far.
I had a kidney stone 9 years ago and the dilated pc duct was seen at that time but I was only told in June of 2022 that it was seen again incidental to diverticulitis with abcess which was resolved. I guess I was saved 9 years of worry but alarming that no one thought to mention the dilation 9 years ago. So being that I have gone this long with virtually no change I hesitate to jump into a Whipple. The IPMN could remain benign...
Yes. I am a solid diagnosis of pancreatic cancer Adenocarcinoma in tail of pancreas. Did not need a whipple.
What protocal are you following? Did you have any kind of procedure?
