Meniere's and Hearing Aid Recommendations
does anyone know of a hearing aid that works ok with an older adult with Mienier's disease. As I've aged the Mienier's has worsened as has my hearing loss. I need a good solid hearing aid that helps. thank you so much, Carol

Just diagnosed with Menieres. I was given Oticon Ones. They are very expensive and I’m sure there are some out there just as good. The Oticons have a tinnitus masking program, didn’t really help me. Although, the sounds seem pretty natural. I did decide on the rechargeable batteries, since I had some trouble changing the tiny batteries. Look around and try out several brands. One will work better for you than the others. Good luck!
Meniere's Disease affects people differently. I strongly recommend that you work with an audiologist who specializes in Meniere's if possible.
Also suggest you work with an audiologist who sells more than one brand of hearing aid. Oticon is a quality brand, but there are others. The uniqueness of each person's hearing issues and also the uniqueness of different products is real. If you are not getting the help you hope for, don't hesitate to ask if you can try a different brand or type of hearing aid.
Do hearing aids work if you have cochlear hydrops and/or Meniere's?
Hi @codyk, I'm bringing fellow members who have experience with Meniere's and hearing aids into this dicussion like @luko27 @morninglory @estrada53 @coppermoon @joyces.

Do you currently use hearing aids?
Yes, I have hearing aids but not working well with my current condition. Once the doctors stabilize my hearing and I have more tests to find out if I have any other underlying conditions contributing to my sudden hearing loss, I will look into the newer technology of hearing aids. My hearing aids are over 10 years old. Thank you all for your support. These forums have been so helpful.
Newly diagnosed with Meniere's and have been using Phonak Audeo B90 Direct aids for 7 years with Tinnitus program. Not much help with the low frequency loss in one ear with the aids due to Meniere's.
Did the medical professional who identified Meniere's Disease give you any suggestions?
Not really. As it was a recent occurrence of hearing attenuation in one ear, she noted similar occurrences in the past couple of years that magically resolved within six months so she said to wait and watch.
I was diagnosed with Meniere's several years ago and have since lost pretty much all of my hearing in the left ear. I recently got new Oticon Real hearing aids. The left ear is a transmitter, not a hearing aid. I hear everything in the right ear. It's referred to as 'cros'. I do not have any fancy programs as I am pretty much a 'homebody' now and could not justify added expenses. I'm happy with them. Signia was an option, I decided to try the Oticons. Good luck
I have hearing loss due to age-related.
Does anyone know what kind of hearing aid to buy?
