Hi,
You’ll do fine on the Urso Drug. PBC and I have gotten along pretty well over the decades. I’m fortunate to have liver doctors at Northwestern. By chance Urso gives you problems there is another Drug Ocaliva that may help. Hope I spelled that correctly.
Some folks do have reactions like nausea, itching etc. give the drug time to help.

May I ask what your symptoms were? I have fatigues, a strange skin mottling and fatigue. My blood work showed elevated liver enzymes and positive antinuclear antibodies, specifically AMA Reticular. I’m having a biopsy of the mottled skin on Wednesday, but my Googling also suggests I could have a liver autoimmune disease. SLE is also being tested for in more bloodwork.

If you would like lots and lots of information on PBC go to

Also the organization has a Facebook account with lots of mostly ladies helping each other getting through the days of worry.
Thank you very much!
Your welcome
Also many states have their local PBC groups where members meet and talk through stuff.
@lbo615 - I didn’t have any side effects from Urdosil or if I did it was minimal. I am no longer on it.
What test is for PBC?
AMA M2 antibodies and a liver biopsy for me. Also other liver enzymes were elevated
Biopsy and bloodwork
