Acupuncture to relieve dizziness
I apologize if this has already been brought up. I couldn’t find a discussions on this topic.
Has anyone tried and had success with acupuncture to relieve brain fog or dizziness. Wondering if it would help with my tightness issue also.
Thanks for any input.

I have been doing acupuncture for my dizziness and a few other long Covid symptoms. The 6-week series I did about a year ago helped (in combination with Mediterranean diet, graded exercise and mindfulness). Recently my dizziness has returned so I’m in the middle of another 6-week series of acupuncture right now. She’s hitting my vertigo points as well as a combination of other points too such as heart channel and anxiety points. Acupuncture is great and I would say it has helped in my recovery.
Thank you for your response.
@auntb65, in addition to @jamiestrasser's helpful post, I believe @kt8 @catalinajacobs92 @fiona57 @linh and others have positive experiences with acupuncture and COVID symptoms.
Have you found a good practitioner in your area? How do you find someone who is good?
It was actually my Alexander Instructor that had positive experiences with acupuncture and COVID symptoms. Her being a Alternative Healthcare Provider she has made connections over the years, and that is how I believe she located a excellent Accupuncturist. I use to go to a Accupuncturist that worked at a local teaching hospital. Sometimes Accupuncturists are on staff at medical centers. This worked out better for me insurance wise, the clinic would submit the paperwork to my insurance company. Prior to this I went to a medical doctor who also practiced accupuncture. I personally would avoid going to a accupuncture school for treatment, because you could end up with a student doing their first 100 sticks, no thanks. Librarians or volunteers at Patient Health Libraries might be able to help you find local Accupuncturists in good standing. If you have a Physical Therapist, Personal Trainer, belong to a health club, etc. they might also be able to provide a recommendation should your own efforts in locating a A+ one not pan out.
I Britain I would recommend a general doctor who has the diploma of acupuncture. In US I imagine a physiotherapist could advise. Some are qualified but mainly for musculoskeletal pain. Over here it’s the British Medical Acupuncture Society with dip med Ac.
I believe in America there is a similar body and diplomas. Knowledge and safety is paramount. fMRI scans do show where real acupuncture works and is scientifically accepted. Still the symptoms it’s undeniably positive for are musculoskeletal but research carries on for other illnesses, and so far I have seen it successful in giddy, headaches, nausea, respiratory symptoms and migraine, along with depressive symptoms.
Forgot to say as well as asking physios some doctors also practice it with appropriate diplomas.
Ask friends, family. I found a wonderful acupuncturist through friends who highly recommended him.
I hope I’ve found someone good. I have an appointment for consultation on Tuesday. My brother works at a local hospital and one of his employees recommended the place for me.
Hoping this route works.
Jamie-wondering if you were successful with your acupuncture yet.
I had my 6th treatment yesterday. I will be treated for the next 5 months through diet, herbs and treatments. My treatments will lessen throughout that 5 month period. So far I am noticing changes. Hoping that continues!
Hoping it was successful for you this time also!
