Zoloft, meditation, self-discovery helped with anxiety and depression

Posted by pm2819 @pm2819, Jul 3, 2013

I was dealing with anxiety and depression and have been taking Zoloft for 8 month. A good way to deal with this for me is to discover who I am and adding meditation to my daily life

I take mine in the morning, but my physician said I should try to take it at night because she said it can make you drowsy.

I´ve been weaned off Sertraline (generic for Zoloft) after 3 weeks by the advice of my doctor. My side effects were insomnia, nausea, and I was extremely tired. I finished my last pill 7 days ago and although the side effects have lessened they are still troublesome. Does anyone know how long this medication stays in your system? I would appreciate any advice on this matter. TY!

Please read the book, "The Anti-Depressant Solution" writteny by Dr. Jospeh Glenmullen. Dr. Glenmullen has 30 years experience helping people discontunue Zoloft and other drug in that same category. I am in the special 4% of people highly sensitive to Zoloft. Getting off Zoloft has become a nightmare for me. This book has helped me a great deal to understand the withdrawal symptoms, how much to taper, how often to taper. Hope this helps!

Antidepressant’s are very hard to get used to. You have to give it three weeks for the side effect symptoms to disappear

I was put on Zoloft to counter act steroids for another treatment. Started out at 25mg, then upped to 50mg. It's been about 2 months and the whole experience had been awful. Weakness, nauseous, difficulty concentrating, tired. One day I feel good then the next 3 or 4 I feel like hell. I'm tapering off of it now. Today is the 2nd day of being completely off of Zoloft. Feel terrible. It seems for me that most prescriptions end up worst then the original ailment.

April 2020, I was put on 25mg Zoloft for anxiety. Bad choice! By June 2020 I was having severe extremely severe heart palpitations. Turns out I am in that special group of people who are very highly sensitive to Zoloft. Getting off the Zoloft has become a nighmare. I can only taper 0.4mg at a time without being in complete misery. The book that has been the most help is getting off the Zoloft has been "The Anti-Depressant Solution" written by Dr. Joseph Glenmullem. Dr. Glenmullen has 30+ years of experience helping people discontinue Zoloft and other drugs in that category. Please read the book. Hopefully his adivce will help you too! Please let us know! Good luck!
