Abnormal ECG

Posted by ih60 @ih60, Feb 9, 2023

I had 4 ECG’s done recently and they all showed “Abnormal ECG with non-specific ST abnormality” or “ST-T wave abnormality”. What does that mean? Thank you.

Hi @ih60, it sounds like you've received your ECG results before having a chance to review them with your cardiologist. ST- and T-wave changes can mean many different things and the interpretation of the findings, needs the expertise of a medical professional who is familiar with your medical history.

What was the reason for your getting repeated ECGs? When is your follow-up appointment?

Thank you for responding. I had sudden spikes in blood pressure around the holidays. Ended up in ER 3 times because my BP was not coming down. They took ecg in each of my visits.

Have you been referred to a cardiologist?

REPLY

Yes. I just saw a cardiologist. I had an echo cardiogram and a stress test. He said my echo was okay but my stress test showed some abnormality. Now I have to do a “nuclear stress test. I’m just wondering what’s wrong.
