Post COVID: Anyone experiencing internal vibrations?

Posted by sharho @sharho, Jul 7, 2022

I have had long covid for over two years and a symptom began sporadically during the initial seven weeks that has worsened since a second covid experience. It began as a “flutter” in my chest upon waking, lasting 5 seconds or so. It is not painful just a new sensation I have never experienced. After getting covid again in February 2022, the internal vibrations have become full body and go on for forty seconds. It is always upon waking or falling asleep temporarily during meditation and waking again. Long Covid retired me from my profession and I am not under any stress. I had a recent cardiac incident (also due to long Covid) and wore a Holter monitor. I triggered it whilst having an IV incident: definitely not cardiac induced. Has anyone else experienced IV like this?

I'm in Australia - 39m - generally very healthy.

Had both Pfizer shots and booster by March 2022. Caught C19 in late June 2022.

Primary symtoms were complete loss of smell and taste, fatigue and severe sinus congesion and infection. Slowly recovered smell and taste over a few weeks, but slightly muted. I already have bad sinuses, but since they're pretty consistently bad.

In mid-September, I started getting strong smells - like a burnt/off smells, usually when sitting quietly at home. Never happened when busy or outdoors. Very soon afterwards developed a persistent tension headache in my right temple and tingling, primarily around my upper right eye. Doctor believed was post-viral nerve damage and to keep track of it.

Over time, the facial tingling became less pronounced and the headache would come and go.

Got the fourth shot in late October... things continued to calm. Then this past week, I developed a buzzing and tingling in my forearms, hands, ankles and feet and the tingling around my face got slightly more pronounced. I can't tell if my headache is worse because... it's worse, or due to the anxiety of these sensations turning up.

What I find interesting is the gap between my infection and developing post-viral symptoms was 2.5 months and the gap between the fourth shot and these new symptoms was basically 2.5 months.

Wondering how this is going for you? I now have long vaccine injury and two of my remaining symptoms are tinitus and internal vibrations. Are they still persistent for you?

Nine months out from onset vibrations, tingling and muscle spasms. Evening hours are the worst in my legs and early morning, then throughout the day very mild. It’s a total mystery as there is no answers. This condition followed 3 vaccines.

Hello all I am responding as I have tremors post Covid. I was seen by functional medicine and it was determined that I have a gut dysbiosis. It seems that Covid causes a dysbiosis or exacerbates one that is already there. In addition it appears the body responds to proteins on certain foods As invaders and causes an uptick in your immunoglobulin g levels. Also I am finding that no western medicine recognizes an over growth of yeast or any other bacterium in the gut as an issue nor do they think to look at that. Therefore we the public continue with the same issues. Since I have been working with functional medicine I am now able to eat foods I could not and the tremors have mostly subsided( been working with them for 3 months now). In addition I have changed my diet and eliminated processed foods! I dunno but I have realized the medical community can only do so much. We have to take charge of our own health and seek the face of God in all things.

Thanks Jill for your post. I had Covid in July 22 and then received booster only 3 weeks later which made me question - Was it Covid or booster that has caused these vibrations for 4 months now. Driving me crazy as I just wish I knew. I guess Covid as other shots never seemed to bother me. It's good to read from some that these tend to subside or dissappear gradually over time. Doctor just looks at me like I'm from Mars when I mentioned it. A lot of primaries and specialists know nothing about this.

Get your gut checked! You probably have a dysbiosis of some sort. I had and am having the same issues.

I’m sorry to hear about your health issues. I didn’t have any cardiac issues but I did have about 20 seconds of vibrating hands and feet right before feeling better from Covid. I thought I was going crazy.

My head started with a tiny external vibration the day I got Covid in October 2022. I also have internal vibrations in my arms and shoulders. It feels like I am shaking but I’m not visibly shaking. The head shaking is visible and happens several times a day. I’ve read articles about mast cel activation where the immune system fights the virus and keeps on attacking. I have been to so many doctors and no one seems to know how to help me. It’s going on 4 months. Has anyone had these eventually go away and anyone treating it in any specific way?

I have internal buzzing/vibrations that are especially bad in my extremities. Occasionally, I will feel these vibrations (buzzing) in my chest cavity. Almost every day there are vibrations but this is sometimes better described as buzzing. Intermittently - and no particular trigger has been identified although concentration, trying to focus, trying to walk all make it worse. It seems at least partly related to balance problems. I spent September 2022 in the hospital after being diagnosed on 8/28/22. I also have been unable to return to a normal routine and life. It’s been 5 months and I’m really feeling like I want to give up. I’ve got to dig deep and find courage because this is really hard.

Hi @wccr1234. I am so sorry you are feeling and dealing at this level. I have been experiencing similar challenges for about a year and just want you to have light at end of tunnel. Just couple of months ago I felt hopeless and point in life I have never felt. I found thru many sources hearing similar situations and how they did find small steps of improvement leading to manageable daily symptoms, it has allowed hopeful view of future. Now say “Ive got this” when harder symptoms and focus on any sign of new or worsening symptom to treat my body with healing grace and rest at least few minutes before getting up for even the simplest task. It has helped and realistic expectation need months not weeks to recuperate easier to just focus day to day. Hope this helped!🙂
