Neuropathy symptoms are worse when I sit or lay down: Anyone else?

Posted by pitepalten @pitepalten, Nov 26, 2021

My problems are worse when I sit or lay down. I now work standing and limit sitting or laying watching tv. When I wake up my arms have fallen asleep. This started 3 months ago and the discomfort is all over but worse in my arms, legs and back. I have had all the tests but no one can find anything. I also have a rash on my neck. It has been there for a week. Doesn’t itch. My dr prescribed 30mg Zymbalta. I take it prior to going to bed. Anyone have similar symptoms?

It really helps me to read the other people are feeling similar pain and frustration and they have things they're doing. I also know that help me tremendously to acknowledge this is the way it is and try to adjust to that for the moment not the future but the moment I hope we can all keep helping each other thanks bye-bye

I don't have so much severe discomfort but it gets bad when I stop moving so I need to move as often as a half hour at least so but I don't know about sleeping at night I haven't solved that part but it does help to keep moving for me good luck

I agree. When I am walking or moving I almost forget I have PN. Watching TV and sleeping are the worst.

Got diagnosed with SFN 5 years' ago. Was able to jog 10 to 12 kilometers daily without missing a single day for 4 years. For the last one year mobility has become a big challenge due to severe numbness and pain in feet. Getting worse on a daily basis despite major diet changes and supplementation. It will be an understatement to say that quality of life is extremely compromised. Am very depressed. Don't enjoy anything. Wish you and others on this forum a speedy and permanent relief.

I have had a similar experience. I was diagnosed at 65 now 77. I still try to walk s few miles everyday but I am getting worse with same symptoms you described. I was ok until mobility was compromised. Now I have no outlet. Very depressing. I need to look for other outlets and try to stay positive. As my cardiologist says, one day at a time.

Me too. As I sit here watching TV and preparing the night going to bed I hurt! Someone gave me a saying that I should take advantage of right now it's by Eleanor Roosevelt it says you must do the thing you think you cannot do. "So I'll get up and do the dishes and face bed when it's time good night

Symptoms in my feet and lower legs are much worse when I elevate my legs in my recliner to watch television or when I go to bed. Increased tingling and electrical shocks feeling, and my feet feel extremely cold, even with a heating pad surrounding them. To touch them, they don’t always feel cold, but I feel an extreme cold sensation when my legs are elevated. Can anyone else relate?

Same here! I take Gabapentin 300 mg at bedtime and it helps.

Yes,I have diabetes2 and neuropathy.I also have degenerative disc back. It is hard to tell when I sit my back will ache and my feet and legs have the neuropathy feel of pain
My doctor an MD said it could be a combination of either condition being primary or secondary. I have had emg that was negative, yet x ray, ct scan and mri say bad back. Two discs at the bottom of spine appear to be gone.
I am going to a Neurologist soon.
