Grid/Net shaped rash
My boyfriend gets these net-shaped patches on his back once in a while, according to his mom it's been happening since he was a teen. What is it? It doesn't hurt or itch. He takes a medication called Modecate.

I also have gotten the red grid pattern a couple times (that I know of) because I can’t see or feel it unless someone tells me about it. No pain or discomfort associated with it.
I had mine after I took my bra off and I’ve also had it when I woke up from a nights’ sleep before.
Hi there,
Just thought of this randomly as it only happened one time about ten years ago to me. Definitely not a raised surface at all. Absolutely zero itching or pain to it. Mine was located on the back just lateral of the spine kind of near the scapula. I was living in Colorado at the time and no other symptoms no recent illness that I can remember. Such an usunaual phenomenon. Mine had a bit of an s pattern to it. I believe this picture was a day after it first appeared and it stayed there for about a week before disappearing. This would have been around 2011. The only thing I can think of is that I was performing a CT scan around the time of the incident (I am a little too fuzzy on the details 10 years later.) as a Technologist. I was injecting a patient with contrast and the scan actually started taking images without me realizing it. It would have placed that part of my body directly in contact with the gantry tube however plenty of patients have had contact with gantry rubes and not had this type of marking, but it may have been in contact to my back for around 2 seconds at most. I just think it is highly unlikely this was a radiation burn as I never experienced any pain and the back is a fairly sensitive area. I didn't even notice it but my girlfriend had pointed it out to me. I slept with my shirt off but no memory foam mattress at the time.
I am hesitant to think its autoimmune simply because the vessels in your skin dont follow a grid pattern, it really seems to be an external source rarhet than internal? Too much symmtrey when vessles, tissue and lymphnodes dont have this symmytrey but Im no doctor. I did some research back then and it appears a decade later and no real answer other than alien abductions haha. For what it's worth I have always had strange dreams about aliens but never about being abducted😄👽
My daughter just noticed something similar in her arm tonight. It’s not raised, not itchy and does not hurt to the touch. When you apply pressure to it it doesn’t disappear.
Looks just like all the other mysterious grid patterns. At least you can rest assured it isn't vaccine or covid related!
Another one for the heap. Appeared on back. No grids or perforated metal chairs etc... Can we get some clarity around this weird pattern? 5G aliens isn't a good enough explanation 🙂
I woke up to this just this morning. No pain, itching etc… This is the back of my head. Laid on my memory foam pillow as usual. The only thing that was weird was I woke up in the middle of the night and had numbness in my head like It was pinched and my head fell asleep and could feel the blood rush back to my head. Not sure if that’s connected? But very note worthy I think? Anyone else possibly notice some like that when this happened? Curious
Same thing happens to me!!! Always in the same spot too, always looks the same. They indent too..not just red tire like marks … doc assures me it’s eczema 🤷🏻♂️.
Agree it is symmetrical and grid shaped.
It appears to be externally caused by contact with
something manmade in his environment interacting with skin
such as clothing , sporting equipment, furniture, heating pad, pressure, etc. A dermatologist might do patch tests if it appeared inflammatory.
Hi all so glad to have found this discussion group. I noticed these same grid pattern markings on my 11 year old this week. She’s not been sick or had any procedures. We haven’t changed up products. She’s been in a couple summer camps. Outdoors frequently. We’re in Florida so it’s hot. No chair patterns like the grid shape. No pain or itch just like the other postings. Wondering if anyone heard anything conclusive from a doctor.
