Grover’s Disease
Hello-I am a 54 year old, active female recently diagnosed with Grover’s Disease. It started shortly after having an MRI. And it started on my neck and went up behind my ear. It is now on my stomach and back and arms. Is there a correlation between the MRI and Grover’s? I’m also a runner but have been running in freezing temperatures, not heat as suggested in much of what I’m reading.
Thanks for any help you may offer including any suggestions on helping to get rid of it.

Not enough people have Grover’s, ergo there’s scant research done on the disease. I was first diagnosed in the 1970s, and have been biopsies multiple times by various dermatologists over that time.
Only two treatments have been effective—Prednisone and Photo Therapy. Prednisone is temporary and carries side effects. Photo Therapy has kept mine under control for several years.
I visit the VA Hospital in Philadelphia once a week and stand in the light booth for two minutes. That keeps my skin clear. I surprised more dermatologists are not providing nor recommending this.
My guess is it’s an insurance/money concern.
Let’s us know what your dermatologist tells you 👍
Will do Hawkssr. (Do you own an SSR?...cool if so!) Just started taking some L-Lysine wife had bought me awhile back for herpes(?) outbreaks I get 1-2x/yr. Says good for tissue health on the label, so why not try it? Also, going up to visit CBD shop today as I heard they have some kind of light therapy room there. I'll keep you in the loop.
LOL no , those are my initials also I’m an Iowa Hawkeye fan thus the Hawk 😁
OK cool Hawk. Just wanted to add that I found a place near-by who does RLT (Red Light Therapy) and thought I may try that. I see skin doc this week, probably run it by him first, if he even knows anything about it. I didn't know anything about it either 2hrs. ago. May be promising. They want $10/session (? min.) or $100/mo. unlimited days/duration. I'll keep this site posted! Thanks Hawk...
PS. Always wanted to buy A Honda motorcycle cause it was called (something?) 954...month and year I was born. You should look into AN SSR, heck, it's got your name(?) all over it..LOL
Curious to see what your dermatologist has to say.
😆😆
Hey BJV8080. Know anything about Red Light Therapy? What color are the lights your working with? Are you surrounded by lights? Local business has one strip of red lights, so not sure if I have to rotate myself or what. Much co-pay involved? TIA
My treatment is simply called PHOTOTHERAPY. It’s done in a circular booth with white fluorescent lights surrounding you. Treatment lasts about two minutes. I’m at a maintenance stage of only once a week. I began at three weekly visits.
I am a partially disabled veteran, so my copayments are not a factor.
