Hi,

Has any did Type 2 Thyroplasty Surgery before and what are your thoughts? I have been living with SD for over 15 years and Botox only lasts 1 month and half for me. Looking for other options.

Thanks,

Once you had the consultation with the doctor regarding the surgery, how long did it take to get the surgery?

I cannot remember exactly but not very long; a month or possibly 2 at the latest.

Hello. Its years after your post but if you see this please reach out to me. I can relate to that exactly. I have been dealing with SD for about 15 years as well, and botox treatments only last about a month and a half max. Also its a pain to get more often than 3 months with insurance. I am also looking into thyroplasty since it looks like a less invasive surgery than SLAD-R. Willing to travel to Japan if needed.
