Please consume it anyway you want: paste, salad, smoothie. Also add any nutritional or flavorful additives you want. I only experimented with raw, not cooked cilantro. I never read a blog of someone using cooked cilantro as a heavy metal detox. Most used about a giant handful daily, about a half a bunch, but some consumed an entire bunch a day. Few reported positive results with cilantro oil, plus I liked the added nutritional value of the fresh cilantro. Yet if the cilantro looked great, I bought extra to freeze to extend the time between shopping trips.
I have accepted that there is no good way to improve the taste of cilantro. Yes I enjoy it in salsa and other foods, but not in a smoothie.
Initially I added 1/2 bunch fresh or frozen cilantro to my basic morning smoothie of: Unsweetened Almond Milk, Plain Unsweetened Pro-Biotic whole milk yogurt, 1 raw egg, 1/2 frozen banana- frozen in pieces, handful of frozen blueberry's and 2 scoops of Vital Protein's bovine collagen powder.
Cilantro ruined the taste but got it down.
About twice a year, I notice a few papules in my torso area, no idea if they are GD or something else, that itch or hurt and appear occasionally I simply put my half bunch of cilantro in the blender with about 1/2 cup of water and chug it down without breathing. I don't notice the taste that way and my morning smoothie tastes delicious.
For the past month I noticed a few of these papules on my stomach area, maybe 3 or 4 and if scratched would reappear like GD does and started on cilantro for about 4 days. They are all gone.
Rashida- I so hope this herb helps you. I understand your suffering which affects your sleep, limits you and affects your quality of life.
