Ectopic heart episodes and GERD, acid indigestion issues
This seems to help at nighttime , especially when the gut seems full, or the hiatus hernia or diaphragm seems to push up into the chest causing these awful Ectopic episodes....or am I just reaching? That’s the feeling I get from the responses from various Cardiologists I’ve seen over the years

Many thanks for the interesting link between PPI’s and Magnesium deficiency.
Is this part of the reason that magnesium supplements can assist in reducing ectopic beats?
My cardio tells me that the esophagus runs right along side the aorta and gerd or other irritation of the esophagus can irritate the aorta and cause PVCs. So my doc does link the two issues.
Many thanks!🙏
I also have a hunch that the Vagus nerve has a part to play, but try explaining that to my Cardio’s.🙄
My heart palpitations..I think was from gerd also..heart would flip the it made me burp and gas..I know this sounds weird but I know now that others have the same symptoms from gerd
I’ve dealt with AFIB for twenty years. Although I now have an AV node block and a pacemaker to control my beat 100% of the time, I still experience a lot of the AFIB sensations. I take Eliquis and Metoprolol. I have long suspected the Vagus nerve as a player in the AFIB.
Hi. I have to sleep with my head raised so I bought a good wedge pillow online. If I don't use it, I aspirate due to having my esophagus removed and the stomach stretched. Lots of fun! Not. Anyway the pillow is a lot cheaper than buying a bed.
THE WEDGE always hurts my neck. My ENT doc said to get the bed lifts for under the legs of a bed (bed risers) and put them only on the headboard section to raise the head part of the bed. It is about 4”. Haven’t had GERD since then. It is better than the wedge because it doesn’t bend your upper body, but sort of tilts the whole bed just a bit. Good for all people really. Heart health.
Just to add more info on my above comment, I have been having steady PVCs almost as soon as I lie down at night and they would go on for hours, preventing sleep. I had been having two clementines before bed but this one night I had an apple instead. No PVCs. So Clementines are apparently a trigger for GERD for me and the GERD was triggering the PVCs. Others who suffer with PVCs may find a similar trigger within their diets.
Although considered benign, PVCs can so disturb our lives as to make them anything but.
i would get a second opinion with someone who is known to be thorough. this brings back memories of my mother in aroundthe mid 1930 s , they thought it was her stomach when she was under stress but found out it was her heart
