I had gastric bypass July 2018. I lost 62 pounds. Was not quite to my goal, but it felt and looked damn good. Then I gained 5 pounds, 7 pounds...15 pounds. I lost 7, then gained. So then I was up 20 pounds. This was so frustrating. I would find myself going back on the liquid pre-surgery diet. That helped. Now I am at 30 regain. I am so angry with myself. I have no one to talk to about this, no one understands what I'm feeling. I do have a love for food. At times I get tired of trying to figure out what to eat for each meal, then I go back to my protein shakes. They take the guess work and effort out of trying to think of and prepare a healthy meal. I just need to be heard by people that know where I'm coming from.

Hi @missstephyl, Welcome to Connect. I haven't had the weight loss surgery but thought about it when I was up to 330+ in my 50s. I've struggled with weight my entire adult life and it's only been the past few years that I've been able to get down to a comfortable weight for me and maintain it. I have been between able to maintain my weight between 210 and 220 now for well over a year and I attribute it to intermittent fasting (daily time-restricted fasting - eat normally but only within an eight-hour window each day). I alternate between an 8, 6 or 4 hour eating window based on how I'm doing with my weight. I'm still thinking of trying to lose an additional 10 pounds but haven't really started working on it yet.

There is a discussion you might find helpful if you want to give it a try.

Have you heard of or tried intermittent fasting?
