Pulsatile tinnitus
Started getting heart beat sounds in right ear only. Got an MRA to check the arteries (no results yet). Strangely the sounds start in the evening and continue when I go to bed. I have no idea why it's quiet during the day. Has anyone else had this experience. If my arteries are okay in my brain then I have to look for other causes. Any ideas. I checked medication side effects but that doesn't seem to be the cause. One night I exercised in the evening and I had no sounds, but that didn't work yesterday. I'm perplexed.

After my paraganglioma was removed (in the skull base) I ended up with several issues being 1 of them tinnitus. I tried white noise, gingko biloba and other things and nothing worked. A month ago I started feeling dizzy and had vertigo and the doctor prescribed : Zinasen 10 mg (Flunarizina) every night and Microser 24 mg (betahistina dihicloruro) twice a day every 12 hours and my tinnitus stopped. I hope this information helps so you can ask about this to your ENT doctor.
Hi: One month after a break through Covid infection, my left ear woke me with a loud tone, following with pulsatile tinnitus. Prior I had a few low heartbeats after lying down, but they would fade away. Have had all three scans with all normal results. My right side had a little sound but it fluctuates with the heartbeat. When you do physical activity it gets louder or even a bad dream when your heart pounds. I’m planning on having my scans re-read at Mayo. My position or time of day doesn’t change it. It’s been almost a year. Any thoughts?

Kim, I read in another post that you also deal with Benign Paroxysmal Positioning Vertigo (BPPV). Did the tinnitus and vertigo start at the same time?
No many years apart.
Oddly enough I'm on other online sites and tinnitus has just started showing up in discussions !! I find that strange. I wonder if there's any link to Covid boosters that they just keep putting out and changing?
Epley maneuver is GREAT for vertigo and you can do it at home in bed!! My vertigo woke me one morning and I couldn't move at all. Thought I was having a massive stroke. I actually called my mother and my daughter in CA to say goodbye!! I was strapped to a board as they took me downstairs to ambulance. Literally couldn't move without horrific vertigo setting in!! They did the Epley maneuver in the hospital and it worked and I continued at home for quite awhile. Easy to do and takes little time. For me it worked like a miracle! I hope you will try it and it will work for you as well.
I had an audiologist whose tinnitus became louder after vaccination. Mine was after an actual break through case. It is hard to tell if it was Covid related or not. But yes, have heard about it.
Can you explain the Epley procedure and advise where I can find out how to do it?
Thank you

It was a long time ago for me but I know I took instructions from online.
Below is one. It sounds more difficult than it actually is. Go through the motions several times slowly (or in your head) so you are comfortable doing it!
Let me know. I can say in my case it worked perfectly and I've never had another episode in prob 6 years (I think that's when I had it!!)
Thank you so very much!!! I enlarged it and printed it out so will go over it and start the positions. From time to time I have had Meniere's attacks which are primarily severe vertigo so am thinking this will help.
Again thank you very much.
