Any recommendations for ongoing mild headaches with Hydroxyurea?

Hi Lorne…welcome to the site,

Are you taking it with a full glass of water? Are you drinking a minimum of 64 ounces of fluid a day?

I was diagnosed with ET JAK2 in June 2022. I started having daily headaches while taking Hydroxyurea 500 mg each day. Hematologist took me off HU for a month. I was then started again on 500 mg HU every other day. Headaches are gone except occasionally. It seems to be working as platelets have kept dropping last two months. She is letting me continue this way with monthly labs to check progress.

Eileen. Thanks. Yes re fluids. I will talk to my Doctor regarding every other day for Hydroxyurea. I can handle the headaches as I am worried about being off the Hydroxyurea. Next Doctor’s appointment is early February. Have a great day!!
