I absolutely love this topic. I am still 69. Two years in. Feel like I have discovered my better self.

I am 56 and diagnosed with Gleason 7 (4/3) in September 2022. Had RP on November 3, Pathology looked good, nothing found in 6 lymph nodes or seminal vesicles. Now, awaiting my 3-month post RP PSA check Even though the post RP pathology looked good, I am quite anxious for my PSA check, praying for PSA to be undetectable/near 0.
Question, has anyone been in my situation (clear pathology post RP), only to be surprised with increasing PSA?

Happy New Year and hope everyone had a wonderful X-Mas/Holiday Season.

I am 68… just diagnosed in July 2022…. 3+4 Gleason… Was hoping to do AS but Decipher “high risk” grade leading to treatment…Going to go the SBRT route but will not allow ADT at this time as PSMA Pet scan confirmed cancer is contained within the prostate…

Honestly I do not like the Lupron. It is what was recommended for treatments. I have had 2 of the 3 month injections. The 2nd injection hit me hard. My muscles are sore. My bones ache. My libido went straight to zero. Testicles are a lot smaller than usual. I do have a little bit of the "Hot Flashes" but not too bad. This is taking it's toll on me. I am very active and hands on. It doesn't take much to run out of energy, and my leg muscles get sore and tired very quickly. Hopefully this all starts to recover after this last shot wears off.

You sound just like me and what I’ve said about the drug for a long time now.

I am 72; dx biopsy July 2022; RP Aug 2022.

However, I know a couple of men who faced this at your age. For what it's worth.

Best wishes to you (and to all on these strings) for a good outcome.

Layperson response.

Mixed bag: RP recovery excellent; surgical margins clear; lymph nodes & seminal vesicles clear; surgeon optimistic.

Unfortunately, postop pathology reported Gleason grade 9; extra prostatic extension (EPE), which I understand as cancer cells outside prostate but within surgical margins, indicating aggressive cancer characteristics.

1st 90 day PSA a very disappointing 0.19 (repeated 0.18).

Rad Onc recommended radiation to pelvic floor (38 txs) and 4 mos hormone therapy. Begin tomorrow with Orgovyx. Radiation next Friday.

However, 2 friends with 7s doing great post RP w/ PSAs below 0.1.

Hopefully difference is aggressive nature of my cancer vs theirs, and hopefully your🤞🙏

Best wishes.

I am 65.

I had biopsy done in July 2022 and it was painless.
My Gleason was 9.0 but no spread.
My doctor was able to access my situation, he set up a radiation plan to destroy the tumor (20 treatments).
All is now done and I have positive monthly PSA results ( 0.02 being the last one). All the best.
