I have also been taking .5mg of klonopin at bedtime along with a small dose of trazodone and small doses of lexapro and wellbutrin in the morning. I am 70 and have some underlying conditions. I am worried if I get covid as both trazodone and klonopin are on the list to cut back or temporarily stop taking while on paxlovid. Of course you can't stop suddenly taking these meds so I am considering trying to slowly taper off the trazodone and klonopin. Of course only one at a time. Therefore I will be following this thread. Also has anyone taken either trazodone or klonopin while taking paxlovid?
Hi, I’m tapering off of clonopin A. because it no longer works for me and B. because if I get Covid I can’t take Paxlovid. I’m older and high risk. Pretty furious, but it is the only way I’m ever going to get my life back. I’m tapering by cutting 10% from last dose every few weeks. Modified Aston Manual suggestion. Let your body guide you. Buy a medical scale on Amazon and learn how to cut and taper. It’s pretty dangerous to go fast. You’re better off going slow and wearing a mask indoors for the bad months. Hopefully, the new trials for the remdesivir oral pill will pan out.
Let me know if you have questions. The math of cutting seems confusing at first.
I successfully cut my klonopin dose to .25. I did see a doctor before Christmas and he said that I could take paxlovid with all 4 medicines I am taking. He said the risks associated with covid were much greater than the risk of interactions between paxlovid and either trazodone or klonopin. He had experience with patients taking these type of medicines and paxlovid and they all did okay. The only patient who had to be hospitalized was someone who did not take paxlovid.
I am 81 and I have been on Klonopin for about 15 years and don't want to get off, I have essential Tremor
and it helps me a lot, I see no difference in myself. I take 05 in the morning and 2 1/2 before bed because
I am not a sleeper, all I can say it works, I am not tired when I get up--I just feel normal. what is the reason
you want to get off?
I feel it works for me but I’ve heard so many stories of how much better you are without it. Can anyone who successfully did this comment? I’ve used it for about 10 years originally to help neuropathy. Thank you,
I

Has your doctor suggested you quit taking your benzo?
How old are you?

You don’t take it for anxiety?
