Stage 3 Kidney Disease and Diet: What can I eat?
It seems there is very little you can eat that is healthy for the Kidneys. The web site Davida has plenty of food on it but contradicts what other sources say. Anyone know anything for breakfast, lunch and dinner that does not have any sugar or flour bodies the obvious boring or bland foods good for Kidneys and I’m allergic to sugar of any kind of sweetener and flour. Thank you.

What’s the benifit of super beets over regular beets.
I’ll eat whole foods over supplements any day.

That’s my usual fare. It’s good.
Almond Flour - Heads Up
I Purchased almond flour through Amazon, and had no problem with it. Then I bought almond flour at Costco and it’s been a total disaster. I could see right away that it was a different color and coarser. I wouldn’t have cared but I’ve ruined two perfectly good meals using that flour. Throwing it out and I hate to waste food.
Raisin bran may have some sugar but I am not Diabetic. Almond milk: nope, I have to use Lactaid. Would like some strawberries but those things that come from CA are not very good. I like home grown, especially if I could get them, they are rare. Thank you anyway Johnmacc. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

All vegetables have some amount of natural sugars. I always eat the greens on beets and some other vegetables. Sautéed in EVO and some s and p…maybe with some diced onions …I’ve even put nuts and golden raisins in mine if too bitter…is very healthy. It’s a shame to throw them out.
Happy Healthy New Year and happy new adventures in food and exercise. No holds barred.

@ldrlaw That's too bad. I guess flour can be so different. Do you know someone on a gluten-free diet you can pass the flour on to? What about putting it through your blender to grind it down, would that help?

My question seems to be misunderstood. "Super Beets" is a product, sold on TV. It is supposed to improve blood pressure and allow for increased physical activity. As a Type2 diabetic as well as a possible CKD patient with a GFR at 46, I am aware of the reduced need for sugar and salt but on the labels nutrition chart it show that a serving of "Super Beets" has a 3% of sodium level and a sugar level at 3g. I would like to know if anyone is familiar with this product. I am not comparing "Super Beets" with the fresh vegetable.
I do have a friend who eats gluten-free….. good idea. True because The I’ll give it to her. On the upsides the dinner last night was so bad that my husband said we’ll go out to eat tonight. Yay! 😄
The above is what happens when you try to speak your message and the tv is on.
@pcjaparis I looked this product up on the internet. People should be aware of the magnesium citrate ingredient, which can be detrimental to some health conditions, including CKD. Also, I note the medical review of the product is from an obstetrician/gynecologist with no mention of nutrition education. This, for me, is a big red flag.
Your endocrinolgist and nephrologist would be good sources to ask the questions about using SuperBeets in your own individual case, as they have the best knowledge of your situation. What may look good on the surface may not be a good fit for you. In my experience, fresh food is always best when possible.
