Chronic constipation alternatives

Can Benefiber be a good substitute for Miralax that was Prescribed to be taken daily? Can it be used while taking Miralax ? Mayo suggestions re daily schedule, diet, exercise all very helpful

What brand of Triphala seems to work best? And how about the pills versus powder? Powder seems economical at $26 for 2.2 lbs. on Amazon.

Feedback anyone?

10 minutes on exercize bike after breakfast and benrfiber, coffee to increase metabolusm; adding orune juice, trying to adhere to daily schedule for Benefiber, increasing water intake— all so far without Miralax. .. which has created intense gas in past. Not a benign product whatever is said

I use Senokot which isnt the best choice I do get cramping but not that excessive bloating (looked pregnant and I am thin) and in terms of emptying bowel, works better for me (& other side effects)which never seemed to end. I have a script for plenacatide ($ 200 for 20 pills here in Canada) but had such a bad experience with Linzess which is called Constella here and they are same family of drugs...so many people on this site recommend magnesium but I have an arrythmia and long term mag use not a good idea for me. My problem became significantly worse after beginning Prolia injections for osteoporosis. Sorry not a big help, but try the senokot occasionally and see.

GI drs in this area say the key is not to break the chain or train & never go a day without “some Miralax” so wondering if 1/2 capsule in am and pm with the Benefiber which helps bloating, gas might work?

My dr told me Miralax is inert and therefore cannot be absorbed by the body. Is this correct? I’ve always wondered how it affects gut bacteria.
I agree about the exercise, Benefiber and mag Citrate However I have low BP and mag citrate would lower it too much. It relaxes blood vessels. I made up a recipe that wks well - Marshmallow Root Powder 1/2 tsp, licorice Root pdr 3/4 t (lubricates the lining of the colon), 3/4 t of Acacia Fiber. Can add Slippery Elm also. Mix all this in 1/4 c applesauce then down the hatch. Wks next day.

Publix has an excellent Laxative herbal tea .
Greenwise Organic Laxative herbal supplement. It’s excellent and I leave the bag in with a Ginger Organic tea bag all day and keep adding hot water to sip on throughout the day. Also NO sugar, in any form, helps greatly. I use only organic Monk fruit liquid, and use it all day in my water as well. NO sugar or white flour!!!!……..I use XOCHITL organic Blue Corn chips as my carbs and snacks along with organic Fiji apples.
