Stage 3 Kidney Disease and Diet: What can I eat?
It seems there is very little you can eat that is healthy for the Kidneys. The web site Davida has plenty of food on it but contradicts what other sources say. Anyone know anything for breakfast, lunch and dinner that does not have any sugar or flour bodies the obvious boring or bland foods good for Kidneys and I’m allergic to sugar of any kind of sweetener and flour. Thank you.

I don’t know much about the cause of my magnesium high, other than the water here and I suppose my low kidney function couldn’t clear it. My doctor didn’t give me any additional information. Maybe my metabolism is all tied up with it,too. I have always had big problems with higher doses of medicines.

Hey Eirrol,
Could be water. Sometimes low thyroid. Also anemia. Diuretics. There's a few. I read something about calcium gluconate injection for high mag. I think you're right, that it's a metabolic thing.
You're on about bottled water.

To Delmar,
Thanks. I had no idea these things could cause high magnesium.
Now I also know I can discuss the calcium gluconate injections with my doctor if my numbers get too high. Double thanks !

I have been eating for breakfast: raisin bran. Lunch is usually a deli chicken sandwich. Dinner is usually homemade vegetable soup. I have gone from stage to stage 2 at last blood test. Drink only 1 cup coffee in morning. No other drinks except 64 ounces of water. You should be able to ear a lot of vegetables.
Can CKD and Type Two Diabetics use "Super Beets" on a renal diet?
Sammylou, I think you're the one who eats the sandwich in the afternoon and do you make the homemade vegetable soup with the ball of ground beef in it? If this is you, I tried doing what you did, I went from eGFR 55 to 75. Creatinine from 1.36 down to 95.

Fantastic!
You went from stage 3a to stage 2. Great. I do not use ground beef in the veg soup, it is cubed low fat beef. Keep it up, but quit the ground beef, it has more fat.
