Diagnosed with endometrium adenocarcinoma few days ago

Hi 👋 I’m 48 years old and diagnose with cancer . What kind or type, I don’t know yet.. I’m still waiting for the referral response for oncologist referred by gynaecologist. The gynaecologist performed biopsy through colposcopy and test results that’s there’s an abnormalities same result on my Pap smear. He said that he can only perform surgery for me for hysterectomy if cancer is on stage 1, if that is stage 2 , then he’ll need to referred me to oncologist. So pretty obvious it’s not stage 1 because he referred me to oncologist. I’m too anxious about this, really want to know the prognosis on my case. Now I’m in the agony of knowing what really is my condition and what is going on in my body. As for myself I know I’m a healthy women, no drinking and smoking habit.
Appreciate all the response. And comments on how to cope my anxiety and how to accept the fact that I have cancer and how to manage it. I’m still on the process of accepting and digesting all the news for myself.

Praying for you to have peace. Take one day at a time. The first time I met my Gyn Onc she explained the results of my pathology report and what it meant. She did a pelvic exam and as she was doing it said because of my fibroids she wanted to see how she would get the uterus out in one piece and then asked if she also did a quick anal exam saying it helped her to measure my uterus. She then gave me step by step what she would be doing during my full robotic laparoscopic hysterectomy. And then I asked if I could get the surgery ASAP and early in the morning so I could go home that day. She said whatever time the surgery is, I’d go home the same day. I was impressed! 12 days later I had her first surgery of the day. It went perfectly! When I woke up they needed the doctor to sign me out and she was already doing another surgery. One of the resident doctors left the surgery, asked me a few questions and I went home. Let us know how it goes.

Hi Helen,
Yes I met my oncologist last November 28. She said that based on my biopsy it’s Uterine Cancer. She did a pelvic and anal exam on me. I asked why it didn’t find out on my transvaginal ultrasound, she said that the cancer cells find out from my tissue genes, that only biopsy can see it. The good thing is it’s catches right away before it go far more worst, the bad thing is it’s an aggressive cancer based on my biopsy result as a high grade Adenocarcinoma. Will schedule me for laparoscopic total bilateral hysterectomy , she’ll had to do lymph node test and get some tissue on my abdomen to check if the cell’s metastasis on my abdomen but again before that happens I had to do the standard pre op test, Ct scan and will schedule me also for genetic testing. Once surgery is done will find out the kind of cancer stage and grade and will find out if I need to get chemotherapy. This will happen in 3 to 4 weeks or probably before New Year. She said everything and all answer will get to know after the surgery. I did the bloodwork on November 28 and results came out on the same day. Called me and said that I need to repeat my bloodwork as my hemoglobin are way too low to it’s level, I said that I’m aware of that as my family doctor informed me and advised me to take iron supplement 3x a day. My oncologist said that on my repeat bloodwork will check the level of my iron. She said that if my iron is too low, she will give me an Iron Infusion, she did mention also that I need to get the normal level of my hemoglobin before I go for surgery.

Hi everyone!
Took me time to post my update here. After I met my oncologist on November 28th, schedule me for Iron Infusion as my hemoglobin level are too low even I’m taking iron by mouth 3x a day. After my Iron infusion the oncologist scheduled me for total bilateral hysterectomy through laparoscopic procedures on December 22nd (which is tomorrow).
After I got my Iron Infusion was too busy going to hospital everyday for a week as my pre operative preparation are scheduled day by day. My body is sore and tired.
My oncologist said that one week after my surgery will call to let me know the results of their findings such as : staging, grading and if I will need to undergo for chemotherapy, radiation or oral medication.
I’m praying 🙏 for a high hopes that after surgery everything are okey. Hoping and wishing the best positive ways for this holiday.
Merry Christmas to all !

Put your trust in the lord. If he wants to heal you he will. But if you want to be saved trust in Jesus. He’s the way the truth and the life. Absent from the body and present with the lord once we leave this earth.

Merry Christmas everyone!
I undergo TAHBSO on December 22nd , I was on the patient surgery check in waiting on my side table I saw a clipboard of my files , I can read the diagnosis: Endometrial Cancer (C54.1) It’s a day surgery after 3 hours of operation transfer me to ICU after 2 hours transfer me to recovery room where I slowly start to wake up moaning with pain. Nurse told me that they already infused pain medication on my IV so should not feel more pain. Also explain that during surgery they put a catheter on my wrist arteries to monitor my vital signs. Had to urgency to pee, but I can’t and nurse explained to me that most of the patients reactions are the urgency to pee even it is not, I feel my bladder are really full and too heavy. After 1 hour transfer me to another room where one relatives can come see me, it allow me and gave me water since my mouth and my throat are really dried. Nurse told me that one rule of discharging patient with TAHBSO is to pee and to measure the urine output. Gladly I peed but I still another hour to wait to discharge me as I am still drowsy. My surgery start at 12:00 noon and I was discharged by 7:00 pm with a followed up oncologist order appointment on January 16th and another bloodwork .
January 18th schedule for my chemotherapy.
Now I’m recovering, still in pain since I’m allergic to morphine and codeine so I’m stuck with Tylenol and Naproxen.

It sounds to me like you got terrible treatment. First of all, I consumed clear liquids up to 3 hours before my TAHBLO, including a pre-surgical Ensure, so no dry mouth. Then they kept me overnight and I peed through a catheter, so no terrible full bladder. The surgeon came to see me before I left, and I got a prescription for oxycodone, which I did not need. I felt well cared for, and you should have been, too! I think that you should report your treatment to the hospital administration, at least.

@whengzy19 First the diagnosis of endometrial adenocarcinoma which is so frightening and then the delay because of your low hemoglobin count. It's normal to have a lot of anxiety leading up to the surgery. Finally your surgery was scheduled and it's over. Hopefully you are at home and resting and the Tylenol and naproxen is helping with the pain. With a total abdominal hysterectomy I imagine it will take some time before the pain is less and you feel some energy come back.

When you see your oncologist you will probably get the pathology results. It's when the pathologist examines the tissue that was removed that the final diagnosis is made along with the stage and your oncologist can talk with you about whether you need any more treatment (chemotherapy, radiation therapy, immunotherapy).

How are you feeling today? Do you have family who are taking care of you while you recover?

I am 50 super healthy , and same diagnosis . Also did genetic test: it’s a Lynch syndrome- all cancers are welcome with this condition.
I was scheduled for surgery: cancelled twice. Thinking to do radiation, as can’t get to terms with removing all my organs and surgical menopause.
Doing fasting ( one was 13 days)
Guit dairy , grains, pasta, all bread, all animal products- a bit tough, but my tumor didn’t grow actually shrank by a bit. Something is working. Also, take FenBen (Anti-parasitic drug) which is connected to cancer.
Urinotherapy too.
Best,
