Feel like you have the flu?

Posted by RR @rachelr, Dec 11, 2022

I have been 3 months since COVID diagnosis. Just about every other day, I have flu like symptoms & neuropathy in my left jaw? Is anyone else experiencing this?

Yes! I had COVID twice in 4 months, unfortunately. Last diagnosed was in October. I’m experiencing fever like sweats multiple times per day, a constant flu-like headache, neuropathy, muscle twitches, and brain fog.

I also noticed major swings in my BP most recently and heart palpitations.

Were you naucious a lot as well? The symptoms come & go. I feel like every other day I feel better and then the next day bad. Brain fog has gotten better and headaches are less frequent. It is all the symptoms or none.

I was nauseous some at diagnosis and some GI issues but better now.

I had 3 really good days last week and the brain fog was clearing. My doctor suggested I do some walking so earlier this weekend did some stretching and walked some. Today was horrible!

Just when I believe I’m on the mend, there is a setback with a migraine, neuropathy, brain fog, and fatigue. All symptoms together! My bp is having weird swings too, low as 105/65 to 137/85 within the same day and with no activity differential. My avg resting bp is 118/78. The heart palpitations have become bothersome and it feels like my heart and head pound together when I get the severe head pain.

I’m being tested on 12/21 for more severe nervous system damage that may be causing these issues to linger. It feels like there is 0 regulation happening in my body. Drenching in sweat frequently during the day and night like I’m breaking a fever.

I’ve been through worse, I’m a cancer survivor. However, I’m anxious for normalcy and these symptoms remind me of when I was at my most vulnerable state.

"It is all the symptoms or none." This. I had dysautonomia for 6 weeks, with good and bad days alternating. Then it disappeared, seemingly by itself 🤷‍♀️ Now the main thing left is the deconditioning/muscle weakness, which I am slowly reversing with exercise.

I feel like the spiked protein takes a rest, then it rears its ugly head
and causes symptoms again. It can rest for weeks. Then back at it again
with nausea, painful guts, diarrhea. Then back to normal. Will the spike
protein ever fade away?

I got Covid in January 2022. Five days later I got severe body aches that last about two months. Also got insomnia and IBS symptoms which I still have. The body aches got a little better but became severe again several weeks ago. It feels like the flu every day. A rheumatologist diagnosed me with fibromyalgia, which has no cure and no safe drugs that will reliably help with the pain. The rheumatologist wouldn't treat me, just referred me to my primary care Dr, who knows very little about this disease and is too busy to investigate.

I have had these symptoms as a result of COVID, which I was diagnosed with beginning of September 2022. My symptoms are gradually getting better, but it is a VERY slow process. I feel flu like every other day (which is so odd). I am taking many supplements & they seem to be helping. I think this is our bodies trying to fight off the virus side effects of long haul.

What supplements are you taking and how did you find out about them?

NAC, Quercetin with Bromelain, Liposomal C, Vitamin D with K2, Magnesium with L Theonate & I take a multivitamin as well. Different supplements work differently on everyone & it depends what symptoms you have. You can talk to knowledgeable people in the vitamin departments. You may have to increase amounts you take depending on if you are noticing progress. I walk every day & have built up my stamina, so I have more energy on the days I am feeling better (pretty much every other day. I also am eating anti- inflammatory fruits & veges( cooked), fish & drinking a lot of ginger tea( for my nausea). Hope this helps.
