Has anyone had any recovery from months of long Covid brain fog?
Brain fog and fatigue. 7 months for me. New studies don’t give me much confidence in recovering or improving. If anything, I’m in a bad relapse and my brain and cognitive skills are garbage. New tests at UIC scheduled in a couple week. Mini cognitive, acth hormone, psych eval, and a test for small fiber neuropathy. It all feels like a pointless waste of time. Has anyone made any recovery in cognitive ability?

I'm only 8 months into my Long Covid experience and have seen that there is not a big interest in investigating Long Covid in its cause-and-effect relationship with Covid patients and I ask why?
Our government is done with covid. No masking, no testing, no control over the pharmaceuticals that are still cashing in on the pandemic - Why?
Is it the fianacial risk of actually determining that the vaccine's side effects are actually Long Covid? Why haven't the vaccines achieve final FDA approval? Do they (Govt.) know something we don't? Why is it so hard to just get our pain and discomfort investigated? I've went to my doctor many times in the past with my pain and always walked out with a prescription - yet with long covid its now wait another 6 weeks and see if it goes away (Or maybe you go away) - either way it's an attitude or approach I've never seen in my 75 years from the medical profession - they are usually looking for my insurance money.
LDN 4.5 mg is helping with my pain, brain fog, dizziness and triggers of fibromyalgia. Takes about 4 weeks for the LDN to start helping
Did your doctor explain why they prescribed it? The monograph says it’s for Alzheimer’s and mild cognitive impairment.

My helpful med, amantadine, has a monograph for flu, Parkinson’s, and impairment from anti-psychotic drugs side effects.

There are interesting result for doctors prescribing “off-label” - different from its official definition in the monograph.
My company makes some fda regulated products. We have to go through a 510k process for fda approval which takes over a year and a lot of money, even for a new dental floss.
Unless there’s money to be made by a drug manufacturer or prestige from academia to do research and get published, there’s not a lot of incentive yet. Lots of companies are making money from vaccines. New long Covid clinics make money. Like anything, it’s all about the money.
Everything is about money - I just can't figure out why 3+ years of covid - 100's of million of cases, Top 3 killer in the US and yet the FDA final approval is still Pending on the vaccines? We can't even get a list of side effects for the ads , yet they hype getting the shot? What pharmaceutical wouldn't want a pill to cure Long Covid?
I could understand it if the side effects are actually Long Covid and the liability of that might overwhelm the current company profits. With so many potential users out there, the only reason to be hesitant is the side effect knowledge might hurt the vaccine profits.
Sorry you are suffering from Long Covid.
Mine started in December of 2021 and though traditional Chinese medicine (acupuncture and herbs) along with supplements I finally feel like myself. It was a lost year with exhaustion and brain fog being the most difficult symptoms among many.
There are two herbal formulas coming out of China and my acupuncturist determined that I needed a combo of each. She selects the herbs and then I boil into tea to drink.
I also greatly reduced sugar intake.
I wish you a full recovery.
Hello...I am finally feeling much better. I credit this to focusing on my overall health, physically and psychologically. As I look back, I can only be grateful that I am not still in panic because of brain fog. It was crippling. I initially had COVID at the end of March 2020. My primary care laughed when I called for an appt. and just prescribed meds for diarrhea. I knew better, but unfortunately, it was still early times and even the medical community was not prepared. I then suffered through months of crippling fatigue, stomach issues, horrible migraines and brain fog. I had 2 COVID tests and they both came out negative. A year on, I went for a blood test that confirmed what I knew. I had COVID antibodies.
I am now on a study with the U of A and Mayo for Long COVID survivors. One thing that I am pursuing is a device that is FDA approved and marketed by Fisher Wallace that stimulates the brain, much like acupuncture and lessens the symptoms for depression and anxiety among other things. I am hopeful that it might also help with COVID long haulers. This and my attention to gut health has really helped. Kimchee daily and focusing on healthy eating and yoga practice.
As other have said on this site, I wish everyone, better days.
