Had the ablation for pvcs x 2, second time it worked 100%

Wondering how you find an EP Cardiologist for difficult ablation cases. I live in north Florida and have had issues ever since my first ablation. I would be grateful for any thoughts or recommendations.

I had an Ablation Surgery at Mayo Clinic Phoenix Arizona two years ago and am doing great…And I am 78 years old. There is a Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville Florida…maybe you can see a Cardiologists there?

Nash, That's great news. I am wondering whether you also have had issues with atrial fibrillation and/or an ablation for that? My A-fib and PVCs seem to be causal for one another. Anyway, I wish you good continuing health.

The book "The AFIB Cure" written by two prominent EP's has a suggested list of questions for qualifying any prospective EP before an ablation. Obviously we would all want the most qualified and experienced practitioner to do our procedure, so it is worth a bit of research as the book explains. Good Luck

I researched PVCs thoroughly and read the physician authored articles on my condition and noted who the docs were that had participated in the studies and where they practiced. Then googled those docs and found some on line lectures they did to their peers, etc.

I was diagnosed a few months ago, I am 75. I also suffer from anxiety and had panic attacks when first diagnosed in the hospital. One issue that really has me concerned, is when I feel my heart rate going fast, normally with medications, my rate is around 48-50. I feel very anxious when that happens, and then I feel a really weird sensation before it goes back to normal, like a warm flushing sensation, hard to explain. I also have had a couple short blackouts. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I would appreciate any comments. Thanks

Sounds like ventricular tachycardia, which I had occasionally too, prior to the ablation. I had the 1 second blackouts, doctors didn’t like that and that’s what prompted the fast ablation scheduling for me. Please see an ep cardiologist soon,

I had similar, near fainting episodes 4 yrs ago. At the time I saw a cardiologist and was checked out as OK. Three years later at age 71, I experienced AFIB. It got worse ( more frequent) over the next 10 months. Just had ablation 1 month ago, and have had just one short episode of Afib since, but still get the occasional warm flush and partial gray-out and PVCs.

How great to hear u can have normal life with afib. Am suffering greatly with HRs over 200 in an episode. Just had ablation with major episode on operating table. Not sure they ended up doing as originally intended. Am so confused and scared. Foolishly didn't go to teaching hospital but regional hosp. Not much feedback. Been in and out of afib since. Encouragement pls
