Posted by ampeltekian @ampeltekian, Nov 19, 2022

I am ER/PR+ HER2-
At present I an on Kisqali/Ribociclib and Letrozole. Just concluded my 1st Month of the treatment.

I have been hearing alot about Ozone Therapy. I am not sure what to make of it. Any information would help.

@ampeltekian, the evidence for ozone therapy remains inconclusive and it has only been studied in vitro (lab) and in vivo (animals) as yet.

Here's an excerpt from MedicalNewsToday
"Ozone may significantly suppress the growth of breast cancer cells, with no effect on nontumor cells, as demonstrated by in vitro tests. Ozone may also support chemotherapy drugs such as fluorouracil, in cells that had developed resistance to the drug. Ozone may also slow down how fast a tumor grows. According to Complementary and Alternative Medicine for Cancer (CAM Cancer) there are not enough valid studies on humans to support the use of ozone therapy as a cancer treatment." A red flag always goes up for me when searching for a treatment on the internet, the overwhelming results are advertisements or from non-evidence based companies. This indicates to me that there are charlatans out there ready to take your money before a potential helpful treatment has been proven to work.

This is exactly why I raised the question here. I'm on Kisqali/Letrozole (second round starts today) treatment & hoping for a very long "ride" .

Thanks a million.

I just hearing about Ozone so I’m not familiar at this time. I’m wondering what , in your BC profile led to taking Kisquali along with AI Letrozole? I’m hearing more about meds like Kisquali and Verzenio has been suggested to me. Any side effects? Thank you.

I am sorry I don't know what the abbreviations stand for re: breast cancer. I have metastatic breast cancer and tomorrow I have a broncho test.....dark area in between my lungs. I would appreciate it if you and others would please educate me re: all the shortened terms used in comments & replies. Thank you so much. bemar23

I hope you get some answers with bronco test. Sorry about the shorthand. Yes, BC is breast cancer. AI refers to aromatase inhibitor; there are 3 Anastrozole, Letrozole and exemestane which are used to reduce the production of estrogen for post menopausal women.

If I can clarify other abbreviations just let me know. Meanwhile I’ll be thinking of you 🙂 tomorrow.

I appreciate your good thoughts about my broncoscopy. I will reply when I can. I pray the dark area between my lungs is not cancer. Prayers for you as well. bemar23

There seems to be no evidence that support any benefit. So it will be my last resort.
